  • Oktoberfest is one of the most well known festivals that is celebrated in Germany. It is celebrated in its home land as America. Munich is the most popular city to visit Germany in during the time of Oktoberfest which begins the last week of September and continues through till the beginning of October. Great large beer halls are all dedicated to serving thousands of people the best beer Germany has to offer. The traditional foods of Germany are also served and eaten including bratwurst, sauerkraut and pretzels. The weather during this time is also pleasant, not quite as cold as it can get near the winter season but warm enough to enjoy a full day of venturing out with friends.

  • Neuschwanstein Castle is a very popular tourist destination in Bavaria with over a million visitors every year. It is said to have been the inspiration for the Disneyland Castle as it is very beautiful and Romanesque. Visiting the castle that was built in the 18th century is a memorable experience because the view of the Alps where the castle is situated is breathtaking. The classic German landmark is the well known 14th and 15th century gothic cathedrals.

The best time of year to visit this beautiful cathedral is during its autumn months of September and October when the weather is nice and warm. It can become very humid any other time of year and extremely cold during the winter nights especially.

  • The Rhine River is a splendid way to see Germany as a tourist. It offers daily cruises down the river and a great vantage point to see Germany beautiful port cities. The optimal time to take a river cruise is during the months of June through August because of the nice weather and sunny summer.
