Top 5 Duran Duran Songs

Duran Duran, James Bond Movie

My top 5 Duran Duran songs are mainly from the good ol’ days of the 1980s. Four of these top 5 Duran Duran songs are really pulsating, while one of them is very reflective and heart piercing. Here they are in no particular order, my top 5 Duran Duran songs. These are tunes that I enjoy listening to often!

Top 5 Duran Duran Songs Selection Number 1: Is There Something I Should Know, from the 1983 US re-release of their 1981 self-titled album

This was the first Duran Duran song that I was exposed to and it is sung with a sense of playfulness and irony as well as with forcefulness, which is why it’s one of my top 5 Duran Duran songs. It was originally released as a stand alone single in 1983, but then added to the re-release of the 1981 album Duran Duran for USA music listeners, according to Wikipedia.

Top 5 Duran Duran Songs Selection Number 2: Ordinary World, from the 1993 album Duran Duran (a.k.a. The Wedding Album)

I would say this very well could be my favorite Duran Duran song because it’s one of those songs that is sung with great passion and conviction, and it pierces the heart. I see this personal top 5 Duran Duran songs choice as very appropriate to listen to when attempting to recover from one of life’s blows.

Top 5 Duran Duran Songs Selection Number 3: Union of the Snake, from the 1983 album Seven And The Ragged Tiger

I think Duran Duran is best when they sing forcefully and fast-paced (with the exception of Ordinary World). This song, to me, is their most forcefully and powerfully-sung tune. I really don’t like snakes that much, but using that image for this song is all right by me. I’d rather have them sing about it than have to deal with any snakes personally!

Top 5 Duran Duran Songs Selection Number 4: A View To A Kill, from the 1985 motion picture soundtrack to the film of the same name

It’s a great honor when a rock group is able to sing a James Bond-themed tune. I believe this particular film is my favorite James Bond movie because of its explosive action, and the song really fits the James Bond genre well with its sense of daring and riveting pace. A View to a Kill is one of my favorite movie theme songs, which you can read about my favorite 10 at this Associated Content article.

Top 5 Duran Duran Songs Selection Number 5: Rio, from the 1982 album of the same name

Rio is a very adventurous song that’s sung with a hurried pace, taking my senses on a free travel journey for a spell as the group compares the Rio Grande River to a certain woman. Because of the quality of this top 5 Duran Duran songs selection, it’s also one of my top 10 songs about travel, which you can read about here at Associated Content.
