Are you tired of making reservations at the same boring hotels/ motels you see commercials for? Well to give you a more scenic view of the world I scoped out Google to find my top 10 choices for the strangest hotels in America.
1. Out ‘n’ About in Cave Junction, Oregon – This resort refers to themselves as a treesort, because instead of hotel rooms they have tree houses that you can rent. This treesort is a bed and breakfast that is set on 36 acres of land. It features a library equipped with books about tree houses and a fresh water swimming pool. 2. The Shady Dell in Bisbee, Arizona – Step back in time to the 1950’s. This unique place has rent-able fully restored vintage travel trailers from the 1950’s, each of which have strategically placed period books and magazines to make you feel like you truly are in the 1950’s. 3. Kate’s Lazy Meadow Motel in Mt. Tremper, New YorkKate Pierson, former The B-52’s band member co-created this wonderful getaway set in the Catskill Mountains. It features a family friendly Lazy Cabin on Mink Hollow, where you can use 2 or 3 of its 3 bedrooms and that will run you $350 per night for up to 4 people. Also they have suites that start at $155 per night for up to 2 people, though they have some suites that can accommodate up to 4 people, those suites start at $230 per night. 4.Jules’ Undersea Lodge in Key Largo, Florida – This lodge is truly awesome. Jules’ is an actual underwater hotel which you have to scuba dive 21 feet into the sea just to get to it. Only has 2 rooms available which will run you $375 per person per night. Check them out at www.jul.com

5. McMenemins Kennedy School Hotel in Portland, Oregon – This beautiful school was converted into a hotel in October of 1997. The bedrooms were once classrooms, so each room comes equipped with a chalkboard and eraser. This hotel features on-site shopping, artwork, a movie theater, a brewery, and a soaking pool. Registered guests however get complimentary usage of the soaking pool and free admission to the movie theater. Room rates start at $109 a night for 2 people. 6. Beckham Creek Cave Haven near Jasper, Arkansas – This cave house has real life cave walls and ceilings, but has central heating so that you won’t freeze to death like you might in any other cave. You can reserve this cave for your wedding or family reunions. They have a place inside called The Great Room where there is a rock waterfall centerpiece, a big screen TV equipped with satellite and a dvd player. Also they have a Recreation Room that has a pool table. This hotel only has 5 bedrooms among which is the Honeymoon Suite, but each has its own bathroom, thank God. 7.Winvian in Litchfield, Connecticut – 15 architects designed the 18 cottages that are built on the 113 acres of land which border woods and lakes. 8. Time Hotel in New York City, New York – This trendy hotel is known for it’s daringly bold colors and unique styles of furniture throughout the hotel. 10. Dog Bark Park Inn in Cottonwood, Idaho – This is a unique bed and breakfast in the shape of a giant beagle dog. Throughout the Inn and in the gift shop are carvings done by chainsaw artists Dennis Sullivan and Francis Conklin. Room rates at this B&B; start at $92 for 2 people, but the rooms can sleep up to 4 people, you just have to pay an extra $8 per additional person. For just 1 person to stay the night the rate is $86.
