Top 10 Song List: Nelly Furtado

Maneater, Nelly

Nelly Furtado is known to be one of the best singer in the Pop Music Industry. As you can see, she can’t just sing one genre of music but at the same time can jump up to another one. Her voice blends so much with the music, depending on the mood that her music has. The collaboration, how the music was arranged and its message goes perfectly well with Nelly.

Nelly Furtado was known by the year 2000 with the release of her debut album “Whoa Nelly”, which featured one of her breakthrough Grammy Award-winning single, “I’m like a Bird”. The difference with her to the other pop singers is that she’s not afraid to try different genre of songs and does not stick to one of its kind. As you can see, not all people have thesame brand of music, giving her the opportunity to be loved by other people and popular at thesame time by different people having different taste when it comes to music. Below is the top ten list music of choice from her tempting me to hear more of what she can do.

Music # 10 — “Do it”

Is one of the best tuned song in her album “Loose” compromised with a different beat that Timbaland worked hard with. The music was mixed with different beats from different music which has an 80’s sound which for some had a negative reception.

Music # 9 — “Maneater”

A beat of music, with a chorus going there and once gave the song a must dance song in the party halls. This song explores and sings more about sex, but with her singing it, it didn’t sound like that. In fact its more generative as a “powerful thumping beat and insanely catchy chorus” which can make you dance for the whole minute of the song.

Music # 8 — “Give it to me”

A collaborated song with Justin Timberlake and Timbaland which harnessed its way on the last 50th Annual Grammy Awards as a nominee for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals. This music is one of the best music of its kind terms of singing with a other various artist. The music is sexy, hot and witty to be compared with to her older album making it very lively to hear with.

Music # 7 — “Turn Off the Light”

This is one of the song from her debut album “Whoa Nelly”. This song also is one of her top chart hits that made its way to number 1 in different countries. If you have listened to the music, the song characterizes of being real. It tries to show that people are not what they used to be on what you think they are and what could they be, that they ask for things which others might not hear of. This song is an upbeat which is a good soul music for everyone to inspire with

Music # 6 — “I’m Like a Bird”

This is one of the known sing of Nelly way back year 2000. This music is a cool jive of pop, with a message strucking every individual giving them a courage to go forth for the world. This single is also a grammy award single of Nelly that made struck her fame in the music industry. This song was known to be one of the most successful singles of the year 2001, notching number 1 to different countries internationally. Some call this a “hairbrush song”, its a term for one girl or guy singing in front of the mirror with their hairbrush.

Music # 5 — “Powerless (Say What You Want)”

This is one of her songs incorporated in her second album “Folklore”. This pop song was actually written by Nelly accompanied with other people as well, enlightening a message of “saying the things that you wanted to say while you are still alive”. The music comes with a cool flick of her voice giving it a distinguish sound that it really was sung by her.

On some articles, this song was addressed to how Furtado herself was discriminated against in that her record company wanted to hide her ancestry. Well with that song, she really brought out what people should do with, and its saying what you want.

Music # 4 — “All Good Things (Come to an End)”

A powerful music bringing the old Nelly back to its old her with this music. This song was harmonized so good that it deliberately had been compared to her older album and come out to be also the best. This song reminds me of her great music on her debut album, though its kinda mellow if your going to compared it to the other songs in her album “Loose”. And before I forgot, this song reached number-one in 15 countries which make this song a big hit.

Music # 3 — “Promiscuous”

This is one of the comeback single of Nelly from her third and latest album which is “Loose”. This music shocked the whole world with the new look and the new genre of music that she is working with. As with the lyrics, it gives out a messages like a somewhat conversation describing the two sides of the relationship that the song’s protagonist is trying to deal with. This single showed her the other side of her, that is sexy with a label, partnered by Timbaland helped made this music a must beat to dance and groove with.

Music # 2 — “Try”

This cool ballad song, also from her second album “Folklore”, is one of the best ballad songs I had ever heard in terms of lyrics composition and meaning. It really stood out the difference of writing music just for money and writing music with meaning. The music with its video has its different taste of passion which is a must hear. The power of her voice and the passion that she had exerted on the song really paved her way to be known in the music industry. Though this song didn’t hit much with popularity, but for Nelly lovers out there, this song really rocks.

Music # 1 — “Say it Right”

And finally, this is one of the best music that I really love from her. It showed a different her, a different brand of music that I am having a hard time to explain with and a different genre of music that I started to love because of her. If you listen to the music, the lyrics is about love kind of thing, but with the composition and how it was done, it hs a different impact which made this song fun and grooving. Its a mix of new and old Nelly merging in just one song. This song gave her album an impact and was known to be one of the foundation for her album “Loose”. She receivedf a positive critic to her voice, which I am also doing, and even received a nomination for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance at the 50th Annual Grammy Awards.
