Top 10 Nightclubs and Bars Near SoHo

There are many great bars, lounges and night clubs in and around the SoHo area of Manhattan. Mostly they will not require reservations, but it is strongly suggested. Better to have a reservation and not need one, than need one and not have it. Also when you call, make sure they take your credit card. Not all of them take all cards.

There are two parts to Bar Martignetti. Upstairs is the restaurant, downstairs is the bar, Bella’s. If you want a table, it is best to call ahead at 212-680- 5601and that goes for every night of the week. The entrance is around the corner at 1 Cleveland place and Bella’s is open from 10PM to 4 AM nightly. Many of the customers have dinner upstairs first and wind up the evening at the bar. Business dress is perfect and they do have some special cocktails, all of which cost $11, such as Dark and Stormy, made with goslings and ginger beer or The Argentine fernet – branca, coke. A lot of the crowd will come from the nearby financial district.

Sweet & Vicious is open from 4PM tp 4 Am nightly and if you hit them during Happy Hour, from 4PM to 7PM, everything at the bar is $1 off. The garden is a great place on a hot summer night, but it closes earlier. The dress is casual and the crowd in young. As for the drinks, drought beers go for $6, bottle for $4 and $5. Mixed drinks and cocktails start at $7 and go up to about $12. They are a bar only, no food.

The Broome Street Bar is a place to come for lunch, dinner or just a drink. Dinner for 2 drink included goes for around $35 and lunch is even cheaper. The atmosphere is relaxed, very informal. A great place to come after a day of shopping in the great SoHo shops and galleries. They have a huge selection of beer and wine and are open Sun-Thu: 11am-1:30am, Fri-Sat: 11am-2:30am and have a super brunch on Sat-Sun: 11am-4pm

The Blue Note is one of the most famous of the night clubs in the SoHo area. The food is a good as you will find in many of the best New York Restaurants. Reservations are a necessity and you will pay more for a table than at the bar. Dress is classy/casual.

One of the best deals in Manhattan is the Sunday Afternoon Jazz Brunch. There is no cover, no minimum. Just ask to be seated in the Music Room when you call for reservations and they are necessary. Brandy Library is not a place to come for a full meal, but for Hors d’oeuvres, which range from $ 8 to $28. They have an extensive spirits menu – Brandies, Whiskies, Rum. Cocktails, Beers, Wines and Tequila Mezcal Sake. Cocktails gofor $13, Wines can be sold by the glass starting at about $9 and bottles can cost anywheres up to $850 a bottle. The same goes ofr the rest of the choices Lots of prices. The dress is classy casual. A great place to come for an pre show or after dinner drink and snack. L’Orange Bleue is a great place to meet friends for dinner, brunch or as drink or two, although the prices are on the high side. There is no cover charge for the shows. Check each one out for the exact requirements, for instance for the Monday night drums, you do not pay a cover with the $35 prix fixe. As for the drinks, they have a very extensive wine list, each one with a different per glass and per bottle price. The highest bottle goes for $98.
