Top 10 Best Country Songs of 2008

Alan Jackson, Best Country Songs, June Carter Cash

I have been a huge country fan my entire life. I grew up listening to it and I have always enjoyed it. Country music is getting more and more modern by the day and this helps attract more people to this genre. I hope you like my top 10 country songs of the year 2008! I added the videos to the song from youtube.com.

10.Good Time by Alan Jackson

Album: Good Time

I grew up listening to Alan Jackson. His Little Bitty album was the first CD that I ever begged my mom for when I was little. This song does not disappoint. I love Alan Jacksons voice and this song is clearly about having a good time. For a country song it makes you want to dance. Whether it is a line dance like in the video or just sliding back and forth. This song is great and fun for parties that is playing all types of music just not country. Alan Jackson is great for adding modern to classic country together in a great combination

9. All Summer Long by Kid Rock

Album: Rock and Roll Jesus

Kid Rock was one of the few that pulled of the crossover from a different genre to country music. This song is fun and makes you wish it was summer again. All summer long is just a plain fun song that has a little bit of a great American classic song in it Sweet Home Alabama. The lyrics to this song will remind everybody of their summers long ago or recently. Kid Rock sang this song great which helped him crossover from Rock to Country music after he sung Picture with Sheryl Crow couple years back.

8. Every Other Weekend by Reba McEntire and Kenny Chesney

Album: Reba Duets

I love Reba and she doesn’t disappoint with this song that she sings with Kenny Chesney. This is a great song especially with anybody that went through a divorce and have kids. I personally didn’t go through a divorce but it reminded me of when my mom and dad went through one. The vocals are fantastic and the lyrics are just as great. Any Reba or Kenny Chesney fan will really enjoy this song along with many others!

7. Johnny and June by Heidi Newfield

Album: What Am I Waiting For

I do believe Heidi Newfield is a new and upcoming artist in the country field, I could be wrong. This song captures pretty much want everybody wants when it comes to love. A love that last forever just like Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash. Their love was legendary and everybody wants to find somebody to love that will love them forever. The lyrics to this song gives shout outs to some of the famous songs sung by Johnny Cash.

6. Letter to Me by Brad Paisley

Album: 5th Gear

Everybody has thought about writing a letter to themselves. Brad Paisleys song Letter to Me does that. There is a lot of things in there that many people would write in their own letter. Brad Paisley sings this song with great vocals and the lyrics are just as good. This song will make you remember you youth and also encourage you to write your own letter to your younger self. Maybe it will help you come up with stories to tell your children and help them learn from their own mistakes.

5. You’re Gonna Miss This by Trace Atkins

Album: American Man: Greatest Hit Vol. II

This song pretty much describes what my mom told me when I moved out of the house couple years ago and I moved in with my boyfriend. She was afraid I was growing up to fast and didn’t want me to miss out on a lot of stuff she did since she was younger when she started to have children. Trace Atkins sings this song great with a great country singing voice. They lyrics are great and hope your child doesn’t grow up to fast and make you realize that life does go by to fast and you wish it would have slowed down.

4. Home by Blake Shelton

Album: Pure BS Deluxe Edition

Blake Shelton sings this song with a voice cameo from Miranda Lambert. This song is about going to places away from home and you miss the one you love and can’t wait to get home. This song is great if you are away and are homesick. They lyrics to this song are perfect for this situation. Blake Shelton’s and Miranda Lambert’s voice are almost perfection combined together to make this great song.

3. Just a Dream by Carrie Underwood

Album: Carnival Ride

This song by Carrie Underwood is so far my favorite one that she has sung. This song brings tears to my eyes almost every time I hear it. Carrie Underwood hits the vocals perfectly. This song is about a girl that gets married to a man in the military and he goes off to war and dies. He promises her forever, but forever doesn’t happen. She is hoping it is just a dream. This song represents many women who have lost a husband in the war.

2.More Like her by Miranda Lambert

Album: Crazy Ex-Girlfriend

This song is sung beautifully by Miranda Lambert. She delivers the tone and emotion fantastically. I personally believe this is her best song so far in her music career. This song can be interrupted either as she was the girlfriend/wife or she was the mistress. When I listen to this song, I imagine she was the girlfriend and her boyfriend cheated on her. She compares herself to the other girl. It is a classic stereotype of country, but Miranda Lambert sings it with such a great strong voice.

1. Love Story by Taylor Swift

Album: Fearless

This song is just as great as all of Taylor Swifts songs. This song has been on top charts and just not for country either. Taylor has great vocals and writes her own songs. This song is about a boy and girl named Romeo and Juliet who have a forbidden love. Who doesn’t love Romeo and Juliet however this one has a happy ending to it. This song is what almost every little girl dreams about into a more possible dream when listening to it.

I have a wide variety of songs from different artist. Please remember these are my opinions. I understand many will not agree that Taylor Swift shouldn’t be on this list with Miranda Lambert or vise versa. They are different. I hoe you enjoy the list.
