10. Face (Just Push Play)-This was actually a exclusive Best Buy bonus track for the Just Push Play cd, but it is actually one of the best tracks on the cd. Shes the queen of my delusion, She’s my zen from way back when.” The song has an infectious beat and the tambourine in the background just makes you want to dance.
9. Devil’s Got a New Disguise (Best of)-This is Aerosmith’s last single and it’s a little more reminiscent of some of their earlier stuff. It’s a little harder than some of their more recent stuff. “I’m on a mission,a proposition,It’s intuition ’cause the Devil’s got a new disguise.”
8. Pink (Nine Lives)-This is one of those songs that is just fun to listen to. It has a great beat and some great harmonica from Steven. It includes some of their best double entendre lyrics. “I want to be your lover. I wanna wrap you in rubber. As pink as the sheets that we lay on. Cuz pink is my favorite crayon, yeah.”
7. Janie’s Got a Gun (Pump)-Aerosmith’s most relevant song to date, based on child abuse. “She had to take him down easy and put a bullet in his brain. She said ’cause nobody believes me the man was such a sleeze he ain’t never gonna be the same.”
6. Jaded (Just Push Play)-“You’re thinkin’ so complicated I’ve had it all up to here. But it’s so overrated. Love and hate it. Wouldn’t trade it. Love Me Jaded.” An all around great complicated relationship song.
5. I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing (Armageddon Soundtrack)-One of their sweetest songs. It makes you want to cry. “Lying close to you feeling your heart beating and I’m wondering what you’re dreaming, wondering if it’s me you’re seeing.”
4. What It Takes (Pump)-A poignant break-up song with lyrics that get to me everytime I hear them. “Tell me that you’re happy that you’re on your own Yeah, yeah, yeah. Tell me that it’s better when you’re all alone. Tell me that your body doesn’t miss my touch. Tell me that my lovin’ didn’t mean that much. Tell me you ain’t dyin’ when you’re cryin’ for me.”
3. Cryin’ (Get A Grip)-This one is Aerosmith at their best. Great lyrics, hard rock with a little blues thrown in. “Now there’s not even breathin’ room between pleasure and pain. Yeah you cry when we’re makin’ love, must be one and the same.” Loving Joe Perry’s guitar solo on this one.
2. Angel (Permanent Vacation)-This one personifies the eighties rock ballads. It’s a bit sappy, but I love it anyways. “You’re the reason I live. You’re the reason I die. You’re the reason I give when I break down and cry. Don’t need no reason why.”
1. Dream On (Aerosmith)-Aerosmith’s best and most well known song to date. One of the best rock songs of all time. It has a haunting sound and lyrics that stay with you long after you hear it. “Yeah, I know nobody knows where it comes and where it goes. I know it’s everybody’s sin. You got to lose to know how to win.”
