Throwing a Care-Bear Baby Shower

Baby Clothing, Candy Buffet, Care Bears

Those of us who adored the Care-bears in the 80s are all grown up now and we are having children of our own. Care-bears are back and stronger than ever. Now they are becoming more and more popular with baby showers and nurseries. If you are in charge of throwing a baby shower for a friend who loved Care-bears in the 80s, consider using this theme. Here are some ideas for throwing a great Care-bear baby shower!

Baby Clothes Rainbow: These days, baby clothes don’t just come in pastels. You can find a lot of cute, inexpensive clothes in bright colors these days, especially during the summer season. In the room where the shower is going to take place, you will need to hang a clothes line. Decorate the line by hanging rainbow colored baby clothes on it with baby clothing pins. In the end it will look like an upside down rainbow. This is great because the new Mom gets to take home the baby clothes and the baby clothing pins.

Candy Buffet: For this project you will need one small bowl or martini glass for each type of candy you have. Mixing up the sizes and heights of each dish really adds to the display. Fill each bowl with a different color or use candies that have a mixture of colors. Place the bowls together on your food table. The bright colors will really add to your table and give everyone something cheap and sweet to snack on. Here are a few ideas for candies you could use:

Curl a few pieces of ribbon and let it hang out of each dish.

Rainbow Vegetable Platter: For this dish you will need a large platter, a vegetable dip, two bowls, and a few different types of fruit. If your tray is large enough you can actually arrange the fruit in curved rows to create a rainbow. If you do this you can place a bowl of veggie dip at both ends of your rainbow. Overfill the bowls and it will look somewhat like clouds. Here is a list of vegetables suggestions.

Red: Red Bell Pepper, Tomato, Strawberries

Orange: Orange Bell Pepper, Carrots

Yellow: Yellow Bell Pepper

You can also create a fruit plate following the same directions. Here are a few fruits you might consider using.
