Three Great Brands of Baby Shoes that Actually Stay On

Baby Shoes, Robeez

Does your baby do the infamous “cricket chirp” and rub their feet together whenever they have shoes on? One shoe plops off, then the next. Or have you ever found yourself wandering around in the grocery store with your baby sitting in the cart only to glance down at their feet 10 minutes later to find one shoe missing — all while your baby cracks a cheeky grin at you? If this has happened to you, which let’s face it is all of us, you might consider buying one of these three brands of baby shoes:

Robeez
Robeez are probably the most famous name-brand baby shoe out there. If you don’t own a pair, you need to get some. These soft-soled shoes probably come in the biggest variety of colors and patterns than any other baby shoe on the market. My most favorite style is the Robeez Classic Fab Folk Bootie , which remind me of little Alaskan mukluks. These shoes get the seal of approval from the American Podiatric Medical Association as being ideal for proper foot function in both cruising and walking babies and toddlers. The only downfall is these shoes can cost a pretty penny – about $20 to $50 a pair! Personally, I would never pay that much money for a new pair that might last my baby three months before she outgrows them, but you can find them lightly used for a pretty good deal if you look around.

Acorn Booties
Not only does Acorn make cozy slippers for adults, but they also make some for babies as well. These fleece booties look both comfortable and warm and are difficult for my daughter to slip off “to boot.” I put these on my little girl’s feet most of the time when running a quick errand, even during the days of these cold Alaskan winters. The nice thing about these shoes is they are cinched near the top so they can be a bit of a challenge for your baby to get off (and sometimes on, unfortunately). I bought these boots at a local shop, but they sell on Amazon.com for about $15.

Stonz
If you want to get a pair of shoes for your baby that he will not outgrow for a while, invest in some Stonz. I recently purchased a medium-sized pair for my daughter for Christmas, and according to the tag, they should be good from 6 to 18 months! These are nice for cool, wet and slushy days, because they’re made with a water-repellent nylon material on the outside and a nice warm fleece lining on the inside. You can purchase an additional insert for them to make them extra warm, but honestly I think the boots are good enough by themselves. What’s unique about them is they have two draw string cinches – one around the top for their calf area and a second at the ankle as well. Try breaking free of these, Baby Houdini! Though they are $40, remember how wide of an age gap they are good for.

I’m not sure what it is about babies and having things on their feet, but if you don’t want to get nasty looks from older ladies at the supermarket for toting around your barefoot kid in the middle of winter because they refuse to keep their shoes on, buy a pair of one of these top-rated shoes.
