Thomas’ Bagel Thins Review

Breakfast Sandwich, Bzzagent

I am a member of BzzAgent. I recently received a coupon to redeem for a free package of Thomas’ Bagel Thins so I could try out this new product.

What are Bagel Thins?

Like the name would imply, these are thin bagels. Picture a bagel with the top and bottom sliced off, and the doughy insides are left out. You would then be left with a Bagel Thin.

Bagel Thins come in packages of 8, and are found in four varieties – Plain, Whole Wheat, Everything and Cinnamon Raisin. All are only 110 calories each, low in fat and a good source of fiber.

Bagel Thins are pre-sliced and ready to eat in any way you choose.

My Opinion of Thomas’ Bagel Thins

I love a good bagel, and especially living in New York, I tend to have the “nothing can compare to a New York bagel” way of thinking. I always prefer a fresh bagel from the bagel shop, so I typically do not eat pre-packaged bagels. I buy them occasionally for my daughters’ lunch box, so I have tried them. I just never find a packaged bagel to be as good. But since I am trying to lose those few holiday pounds I gained, I was willing to give plain Bagel Thins a try.

I ate the Bagel Thins at lunchtime, smeared with butter. Right away I missed the doughy inside of a full sized bagel. I also tried them toasted, but that really didn’t help my opinion too much. I found them to be just OK, but lacking in what appeals to me most in a bagel. I also found myself very hungry within an hour or so. They just did not turn out to be very satisfying for me.

If someone is looking for a low calorie alternative to bread or a roll for breakfast or lunch sandwiches, then Bagel Thins may work. You can ease your bread craving by using Bagel Thins for an egg breakfast sandwich, or use them with cold cuts at lunch time.

Overall

I wouldn’t recommend Bagel Thins as a replacement for eating a regular sized bagel. It really left me unimpressed. The doughy inside is what, for me, makes it a bagel. But if you want a lower calorie bread or roll for your sandwiches, then maybe you’ll enjoy Bagel Thins.
