The Ultimate Baby Wrap

Slings

When I was pregnant, I spent hours researching baby slings online. There are so many options available that the process of choosing a carrier can easily become overwhelming. I ended up, albeit unplanned, buying the Ultimate Baby Wrap sling for my newborn. I had ordered a pouch sling online from work-at-home mom that ended up being too small because I didn’t pay enough attention to sizing. I then bought another carrier that I couldn’t wear more than fifteen minutes without excruciating back pain.

An exhausted new mama with a newborn who wanted to be held all the time, I couldn’t order another work-at-home mom sling online and wait for it to arrive. I ended up at Babies ‘R Us buying the Ultimate Baby Wrap, and this carrier quickly became one of my favorite baby products.

The Ultimate Baby Wrap is comfortable.

As someone who suffered from excruciating back and hip pain during pregnancy, this issue was very important to me. I needed to find the most comfortable, ergonomic sling available, or I wouldn’t be able to wear it for more than fifteen minutes at a time. After reading a few reviews of how the Ultimate Baby Wrap sling distributes the weight across your entire back, I decided this carrier would be a good choice for me. After you put it on, this sling has very wide, slightly stretchy straps across both shoulders and the lower back so that the entire weight of your newborn or toddler is not held by one shoulder or on tiny two-inch-wide straps. Unless my back is already sore from another activity, I can wear the Ultimate Baby Wrap for hours with no pain. My daughter is still a twelve-pound newborn, but many mamas report that wrap slings are comfortable back carriers up through the toddler years.

The Ultimate Baby Wrap is reasonably priced.

At around $40 new, this sling is not the cheapest on the market. You can easily find baby slings or carriers for around $20 at discount stores like Wal-Mart. However, after a few minutes, you will either be so frustrated trying to figure out the various straps and buckles or so in pain that you’ll want to rip the cheap carriers apart. You can also spend $150 or more buying high quality slings online. The Ultimate Baby Wrap sling is a great compromise, with a reasonable price tag and simple, comfortable design.

There are numerous ways to wear the Ultimate Baby Wrap.

I also love this carrier because it cannot be outgrown. There are a number of different positions you can wear your baby in, including a cradle position for newborns or breastfeeding. Your baby can be worn in comfortable positions on your front facing in or out, on your hip, or on your back for older babies and toddlers. This sling is basically a very long piece of fabric that you adjust yourself, so it is one size fits all for mama and baby alike. It does take a few tries to figure out how to put on the Ultimate Baby Wrap and properly adjust the tension (the straps need to be tighter than you might think), but it quickly becomes second nature. An instructional DVD is included in the package, and there are numerous websites with tips for wearing a wrap sling.

The Ultimate Baby Wrap is readily available.

As mentioned above, this is one of the biggest reasons I ended up buying the Ultimate Baby Wrap sling in the first place. It was the only carrier that looked comfortable and that I could easily find in a local store. If you’re planning ahead, you may wish to buy another similar wrap sling from a work-at-home mom, which are readily available online.

These are the main reasons why I am happy with my purchase of the Ultimate Baby Wrap sling, but there are other features that make this carrier a great choice. It is essentially a big piece of stretchy fabric, which can have a long list of alternate uses when you’re on-the-go and in a pinch. It also has a large pocket on the front which can be very useful. If you decide to buy the Ultimate Baby Wrap for your newborn or toddler, I hope you like it as much as we have!
