Babies R Us, Boppy, Boppy Pillow, Shopping for Baby, Tummy Time

Shopping for baby toys and fun interactive items for your little one can be a fun challenge. It is often difficult to figure out which one will be best for your baby. The list below contains some of the best gym and play mats for infants. Is their one specific gym or play mat that your children really enjoyed? Post it in the comments section. Be sure to include where you can purchase it. After babysitting several little ones myself, I chose to try different gym and play mats to see which ones really stood out. What is really nice about the gym and play mats listed below, are that most are not too expensive.

1. The first one on the list is the Tiny Love Tummy Time Mat by Tiny Love. This little play mat is made for infants up to 12 months. The price is about $30 at most locations. This mat actually seems to help babies enjoy being on their bellies. It is nicely cushioned and has different activities for your little one to try and interact with. It is also washable which is one feature that most moms really enjoy. There is also a pillow that gives extra support and the mirror is the biggest hit of the play mat. There is also plenty for your child to reach for and chew on with this fun play mat. You can find this play mat at “Babies R Us”, Amaon.com, and Happymothers.com.

2. Another mat by Tiny Love is the Tiny Love Gyminit 3-D Activity Gym. The price is this cute little gym is about $35. It can be used for infants up to 18 months. There is plenty of extra cushion and it has hanging toys that are soft and easy for baby to reach for. It is a great way to stimulate your baby to start reaching and moving around. It has bright colors and You can even add more toys for them to play with. The toys link together and can also be easily removed. You can find this toy at “Babies R Us”, and select Wal-Mart locations.

3. The Chico Duo Gym is a great toy for little ones from 3 to 18 months. The price of this toy is about $40. This is a great toy that will have your baby interacting very quickly. You can change the position of the gym so that your baby can lay on their tummy or their back. As soon as they start kicking the lights and music go on which babies really seem to find entertaining. The only down side is that their is no cushion that comes along with it. I have found that just using one of your babies blankets on a carpeted floor will work just fine. It comes with batteries that never seem to die which is great and affordable. You can find this toy at “Babies R Us”, and Amazon.com. They also have this toy available at the Discovery Store.

4. One of my favorites also seems to be the higher priced baby gym. It is the Fisher Price Lil’ Laugh & Learn, Songs & Smile Discovery Gym. This is the perfect interactive mat for infancy to 24 months. The fact that it is able to last for their entire first year is definitely a plus for this baby gym. You can lay them on their back or you can lay them on their belly. You have the option of attaching and detaching the toys. It also plays music that many babies seem to really love. Out of all the play mats this one seem to have the most hanging toys on it. You can connect the hanging toys so that they are lower and closer to your babies hands. This helps to stimulate them to reach out for the object to play with it. This toy can be found at “Babies R Us, and online at Amazon.com.

You can use this play gym for the entire first year of your babies life. It has great little toys that hang down to reach your baby. I also like the mini boppy pillow that the baby can lay on for extra comfort during tummy time. There is plenty that will keep your baby occupied including the mirror that comes with it. You can find this toy at “Babies R Us”, Wal-Mart, and Baby Universe.com. They also have them at Target and Amazon.com. Prices may vary depending on location.
