The Top 5 Headsets for PC Gaming

Headsets, Megalodon, Sennheiser, Sonar, Surround Sound

I’ve been looking at PC and video gaming peripherals a lot lately, and here’s some headsets that I’ve used or heard about that are some of the best. They’re listed in no particular order (I just couldn’t choose which one was better than the rest of them, you see).

Cyber Snipa Sonar Surround Sound Headset

The Cyber Snipa Sonar is another one of my favorite products from Cyber Snipa. This headset features a built-in USB soundcard, so even if your rig doesn’t support surround sound, you can still get it with this headset. The sound quality is pretty good, the adjustable microphone is nice, and this headset is very good all around. The one downside however is that the built-in soundcard makes it so this headset can’t be used on anything other than a PC.

Razer Carcharias Headset

This headset is made by Razer, best known for their high-end gaming mice. The sound quality of this headset is very nice, perhaps even a bit better than the Cyber Snipa Sonar headset. The microphone is also of good quality, and the headset is very comfortable. However, the main problem with this headset is that it is very difficult to adjust the mic to a comfortable position. Also, no surround sound is too bad considering that you can get a headset that does have it in the same price range. It’s not cheap, but it’s not too expensive either.

Sennheiser PC 350 Headset

In terms of sound quality, this headset is one of the best there is. It’s got a nice long cord, so you don’t have to worry about getting too far away. Like the first two headsets, it’s very comfortable and has a high quality microphone. Unlike those two, however, it’s quite expensive. The quality is the best, but you won’t be able to afford it unless you have a bit of cash to throw around.

Logitech Gaming Headset G330

The Logitech G330 is incredibly comfortable. The noise-isolating microphone is another big plus. Unlike most headsets, it has an adjustable behind-the-head design. It’s also very light, and the earcups’ design keeps out excess ambient noise. In addition, it’s very affordable. Unfortunately, the sound quality on this one is a little worse than the others, but it’s not bad enough to take this headset off the top 5. Definitely worth trying out.

Razer Megalodon Headset

The Megalodon is one of the best sounding 7.1 channel surround sound headsets out there. It’s got almost all of the great features of the Carcharias, plus surround sound. Also, it’s easier to adjust the mic than the Carcharias, which is nice. However, like the Cyber Snipa Sonar, it’s got a USB connection only, and it won’t work on a Mac. It’s also a bit more expensive than the Carcharias. However, all in all, it’s a top notch piece of hardware.
