The Best Magic Shows to Attend in Vegas

Criss Angel, Mindfreak

Vegas is full of magic and mystery, and it’s shows are no exception. Multiple magicians have made their home here in Las Vegas. The most notable being Lance Burton. His show has become a signature staple of Las Vegas magic. His enormous popularity comes from his interaction and appeal with audience members, combined with his ability to perform some of the most incredible illusions. Lance Burton’s show is performed at the Monte Carlo hotel several nights per week. The show is family friendly, but many say for the price you pay his show can seem alittle too mundane and rehearsed. Still, he is a world class magician and has recently been inducted into the Tropicana Hall of Fame. And his name alone draws audiences from around the world to see him.

Audiences who have become familiar with magician and illusionist Criss Angel from the A&E; show Mindfreak know that much of his show is filmed at the Luxor Hotel where he makes his permanent home. This fall, fans will be proud to know that he is opening his new show at the hotel, Criss Angel:Believe. This show, in conjunction with Cirque De Soleil performers is a journey into the mysterious mind of Criss Angel. If his Believe show is anything like his TV show, expect big things to happen. His TV show has shown him walking on water, being blown up in buildings and surviving, and other amazing illusions. If you’re not a fan yet, catch episodes of his show and you will be soon. Some of his illusions are absolutely amazing, others predictable or too over the top to be accepted as true but always entertaining. Tickets are preselling now, and shows are selling out quickly. Also head to his website to see exclusive trailers of the show.

Playing at the little known Greek Isle Hotel one block off the strip is one of the greatest magic variety shows. Featuring a variety of lesser known magicians is a fast-paced magic and illusion show hosted by magician Paul Kozak. Many of the performers have had small performances on movies, shows, or late night television shows like Jay Leno and David Letterman. This show brings them together for one incredible night of magic, mystery, and illusion. Many of the performers perform the same “bigger and badder” illusions that their larger magician counterparts perform. Magicians and regulars to Vegas are catching the show and raving about it. Master magician Nicholas Carifo after seeing the show even stated that he was stunned by some of the performances and wondered how they performed them. It’s worth going the extra block to see this affordable, fast-paced show. Most nights, the show features eight different magicians. Some are regulars, others perform on a temporary basis offering the show a fresh and changing appearance.

Of course, do any of these magician really compare to master magician David Copperfield? This incredible magician has made the Statue of Liberty disappear, flew over the Grand Canyon, and performed other huge notable illusions. And now he is coming to Vegas to rival other Las Vegas magicians. For a limited engagement (with rumors that it may run longer if the show is successful) at the MGM Grand Hotel, you can see David Copperfield performing live. The cost to see him perform might leave you with an empty pocketbook, but it has been said that he has one of the most amazing theater performances.
