Hundred Acres Manor

Located in South Park this haunted house is not a place for the faint of heart. This attraction is not recommended for children under the age of 13. It takes approximately 40 minutes to an hour to make it through the entire haunted house. While visiting the manor you will encounter the Hundred Acre Mansion. There you will walk through the ruins of an old mansion. Watch out, it is known to be haunted by evil spirits! The South Valley Hospital where patients were so badly mistreated that their restless spirits still walk around. Don’t miss the Graveyard circus where the entertainment is deadly. See if you can make it through the frightening maze just to wind up in the Hillhaven Penitentiary. Hundred Acres opens for a special sneak peak the weekend of September 18, 2009. The Scare House

The Scare House can be found in Etna Pa. This is a high tech haunted house which utilizes digital technology that takes a full year to build. It is comprised of three separate haunted houses; The Hall of Nightmares, Delirium 3-D and Rampage. Thrill-seekers only need to purchase 1 ticket for all three houses. This haunted house is not recommended for children under 13. This haunted house is rated as one of the nation’s top 5 haunted houses. If you purchase advance tickets through the website you can move to the front of the line. September 18 will be The Scare House’s first night. Cheeseman Fright Farm

If you’re looking for something a bit different this year check out Cheeseman’s Fright Farm. A little outside of Pittsburgh in Portersville Pa this is definitely worth the drive. You will begin your journey on an out of control wagon ride through the Cheeseman farm. There is also a walking part to this haunted house as things seem to always happen to the wagon. This haunted ride is not recommended for the 12 and under crowd. Plan for the thrills to last about 45 minutes from when you get on the wagon. The Cheesemans are opening their season this year on September 18, 2009. Their website lists ticket prices, times and directions.

Kennywood Fright Nights

In case you’re going through Kennywood withdrawal this fall you can stop by Fright Nights. Not only do they have three haunted mazes, outdoor haunted cemeteries and walking ghouls the large rides and coasters are up and running.
