The Best and the Worst Stores for Children’s Clothing

Childrens Clothing, Onesies, Sleepwear, Summer Wear, Winter Coats

Shopping for children can be a hassle, many parents end up having to bring dozens of outfits back because they do not fit properly; the jeans are too long , too tight, or too short, the lack of quality material, or the outfit just does not cut it. Parents spend a lot of their time shopping in multiple stores simply because one store has better jeans the other store has better shirts, or prices. Below I have included a few clothing stores and what types of clothing they are good for and what type of clothing they are not good for.

Macy’s – this store can get a little expensive with fleece sleepers running from $17.00 to Polo shirts running up to $30. 00 dollars, but as always you pay more for a greater quality, and the clothing in this store is made of nice durable material, that can sustain a great deal of washing. This store also has great discount sales, which make it easy to rack up on name brand children’s wear, there is usually a marked down section for children’s clothing, which is usually how I afford most of my daughter’ clothes. If you are in to designer children’s wear, this store has a ton of name brands Ralph Lauren, Roca wear, Baby Phat, Ecko & Ecko Red, Puma, Guess, Levi etc.

Macy’s store is great for;

Sleepers

Pajamas

Jeans

Winter coats

The Baby Gap- This store can get expensive, especially with Winter coats, the jeans are usually priced well at $24.50 and the tee shirts can go from $10- 15, this store also holds a selection of Converse shoes for a little less than $20 dollars, the dresses are adorable and affordable at $19-$25 dollars, the pajamas can get expensive at $20 per set, the infant wear falls into the $19-$24 category, the Baby Gap also has great sales.

The Children’s Place- this store’s price is not too bad, the one thing that sticks out to me most about this store is the durability of the denim jeans, the denim jeans are made of very good, long lasting material, and so are the shirts, and socks. Some of the jeans even come with an adjustable waist band. The toddler jeans usually run up to $15.00 and the shirts are the same. The baby clothing is usually priced well with sleepers and tee shirts running up to $11.00 or more, the baby pants go for $8.00 and the jeans $13.

The Children’s Place is good for;

Jeans

Baby onesies (long sleeved, turtle necks)

Socks

Old Navy- I have to admit, is not one of my favorites for children’s clothing, the jeans always seem to feel and fit stiffly, the designs are repetitive and monotonous. The shirts are kind of cute and can run from $10-16, the jeans run from $14-$16, the sleepwear both infant and toddler can run from $10.00 to $15.00, and the infant wear the same.

Old Navy is good for

Sleepwear

Tee shirts

Target- I enjoy Target, the clothing is priced well, with jeans running from $12 -$16, baby wear runs from $10- $18, the shirts, creepers run from $6-$7. The retail store, (as opposed to the online store) sometime seems under stocked, not having enough options for children’s clothing. The jeans are not that great, the material fades and shrinks up quickly when washed; the jeans either seem too short or too long and nowhere in between with the exception of the khakis that are durable but fit tightly around the waist. This store has a great priced selection of colorful onesies for girls! This store is great for summer wear; the summer clothing is bright, comfortable, and durable. This store is also great for baby sleepers, t-shirts, onesies, and socks.

The Family Dollar Stores- some may not believe it, but this store fares best for attractive, inexpensive children’s clothing. This store is usually stocked with multiple clothing for baby girl and boy, to toddler, to preschooler. The material is durable, and the outfits are fashionable, outfits start from $6.00- $8.00 The baby selection is adorable. This store usually does not sell individual toddler shirts, or pants instead summer, winter, and spring outfits are sold. This store is great for inexpensive outfits that fit, look, and feel just as good as the name brand. (I even purchased a cute short set for $16 at Target and found it at the Family Dollar Store for $10 less.)
