Ten Reasons to Work at McDonald’s

Ace of Cakes, Free Meals, McDonald's, Mcdonald39s

I’ll admit it. I have worked for McDonald’s not once, but twice. The first time I worked there, I had been out of high school for almost a year. I worked there for around 5 months before choosing to work for another company. A year later, I chose to work for another McDonald’s location, but had to quit because of health reasons. While my time at McDonald’s may have been short, I still found that there were several reasons to work the company. Here are just a few great reasons to work for McDonald’s.

Ten Reasons to Work at McDonald’s #1: Flexible Hours

The main reason I went to work at McDonald’s was they offered flexible hours. If you need time off, the managers are willing to work with you. Because of college, there were times when I would need to take off on short notice because something had come up at school. This never bothered them at all. They are also willing to let you work short shifts if you have a second job.

Ten Reasons to Work at McDonald’s #2: Free Meals

I’ll also admit that I’m a McDonald’s junkie. Being able to get free meals while I was on the clock was one of my favorite things about working there. When you think about it, you’re getting an extra $50 in free meals each week.

Ten Reasons to Work at McDonald’s #3: Discounts

The first McDonald’s location I worked for offered discounts for their employees, when they were off the clock. In fact, they offered a 50% discount. Whether or not you get a discount will depend on which location you work for.

McDonald’s is a great part-time job. There may be times when you discover that you need a little extra cash. Luckily, many locations hire employees rather quickly and you can begin work right away. McDonald’s also pays once a week, which means you’ll receive the extra cash quickly.

Ten Reasons to Work at McDonald’s #6: Promotions Available

Few people stay at McDonald’s longer than a few months to a year. This means that if you work at McDonald’s longer than that, you have a great chance of moving up the company latter. The important thing is to tell your manager that you are interested in becoming a crew leader. The manager will then start to train you in all areas of the restaurant. Once fully trained, you will have the chance to become a crew leader and then later move into higher management.

Ten Reasons to Work at McDonald’s #7: Three Shifts to Choose From

Another great reason to work at McDonald’s is because many locations are open 24 hours a day. This means that you can truly work hours that are convenient for you. Don’t forget that if you’re willing to work third shift, you’ll make more money.

McDonald’s pays more than other fast food restaurants. You will find that they are usually willing to pay at least $1 more per hour than other fast food restaurants in your area. If you are experienced in fast food, the pay may be even more.
