Tanglewood Park is located in Clemmons, North Carolina. Local families and tourists find that the park is worth visiting over and over again. The park is set on acres upon acres of beautifully maintained land. The park is open daily from 7 am to sunset. Golf, hiking trails, the horse stable and accomodations are available year round. However, some of the attractions do not stay open year round. Tennis is available from April-November and water activities can be enjoyed from Memorial Day to Labor Day. The park also hosts weddings, celebrations and festivals throughout the year.
Tanglewood’s beautiful gardens can be observed year-round. The gardens and arboretum are a favorite among many guests. In the arboretum, you will find many varieties of flowers, plants and other landscape materials that are professionally maintained throughout the year. The arboretum is a common setting for weddings, receptions, parties and community events. Feel free to view the Rose Garden and AIDS Memorial Garden.
The Tanglewood Aquatic Center is open Monday-Sunday from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Season passes are available, or you may choose to pay per person for the day. The pool area includes the main pool which has eight portable diving platforms and eight 25-meter swim lanes. There is also a section of the pool strictly for diving with two diving boards. Children will enjoy the children’s play area. Inside the children’s are is a zero-depth entry pool that goes to 3.5 feet deep. The pool has a water slide area with two tubular slides that empty out in a five foot deep pool. The pool has a large deck around it with lounge chairs, tables and lifeguard stations. Both women’s and men’s bathhouses are available and are wheelchair accesible. Two concession stands are available for snacks or lunch.
Tanglewood has a beautiful golf course that is well-maintained and available for play throughout the year. Groups and corporations can use the course for tournaments or get togethers. Golf instruction is available at Tanglewood. Golfers will find that the beauty and challenge of the course will make their event memorable.
Tanglewood has ten tennis courts that are available to the public for free play or lessons. A pro-shop is onsite that sells shoes, raquets, balls and other tennis necessities at affordable prices. Leagues, social events and tournaments are welcome and are often organized by Tanglewood. Lessons are available by appointment only for all ages. Players can choose private, semi-private or group lessons.
Three bike trails are available for mountain biking. The three trails are all laid out differently and have different skill levels. Tanglewood offers fishing to the public at Mallard Lake. You are allowed to fish from 7 am to dusk. Mallard Lake also offers a children’s playground, picnic area with charcoal grills, paddleboats, canoes and aquacycles. Three half-court basketball courts are also available for enjoyment. The park does offer state of the art playgrounds for children. Picnic areas are available near the playgrounds.
Horseback riding is one of Tanglewood’s most visited attractions. Saddle up and see what the park has to offer while on a horse! Guided tours, pony rides and riding lessons are available. For larger groups, a hayride may be the best option. Horse drawn carriage rides are available upon request. Horse drawn carriages are available both onsite and offsite. Pony rides are best for young children. A leader is provided in the ring.
