If you are looking for a great tasting sugar free cookie recipe here are a few good ones. My fiancée, his mother and his daughter are all Diabetics, we count the carbohydrates in each meal or snack to determine how much medicine they should take with that meal or snack. If a Diabetic does not slow down on their sugar intake they can seriously damage their bodies. Living snack free is pretty much impossible, especially for kids. Carbohydrates inside of foods turn into sugar inside the body so it can be quite a challenge to find carb/sugar free cookies at the store so I have tried for two years now to make some sugar free cookies that actually taste good too. With four kids in the family sugar free cookies were at the top of my list of snacks. These have been tested and approved by some pretty picky kids, give one of them a try and see what you think.

Sugar Free Oatmeal Cookies Recipe

Ingredients:
1 cup uncooked oats
1/3 cup Splenda
1 Egg
1 tablespoon Honey
1 teaspoon Cinnamon
1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and mix well. Drop a large serving spoon full of batter onto a baking sheet sprayed with nonstick cooking spray. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until browned.

Sugar Free Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

Ingredients:
1/2 cup soft margarine
1 Egg
1 teaspoon Vanilla
1/4 cup Non-fat dry milk
1/2 cup Splenda
1/4 cup Water
1 cup Flour
1/2 teaspoon Baking soda
2 ounces Dietetic choc candy – chopped

Directions:
Preheat oven to 35B degrees. Blend Splenda and margarine in a bowl. Add egg, vanilla, non-fat dry milk and water. Blend on low until mixture is smooth. Blend chocolate candy into the mixture. Drop from teaspoon onto lightly sprayed baking sheet. Bake for 20-25 minutes

Tip: Sometimes you can simply replace the sugar in a recipe with Splenda sweetener. It bakes just like sugar with out the sugar. I was very skeptical at first but it works great. The recipes may still have some carbohydrates in them but far less than if you use regular sugar in them. Some Carbohydrates are good but sugar is not one of them, it makes the blood sugar in a persons body spike up and then drop very quickly, which is not good for a Diabetics system.
