We all know how nasty public restrooms can be. No one ever wants to go inside one, but if you’ve spent the whole day shopping, sometimes it’s unavoidable. You may be able to get past the nasty atmosphere, the lack of toilet paper (women always have tissues in their purse), and the lack of paper towels to dry your hands, but could you get past someone watching you? I’m talking about hidden cameras; I’m talking about an actual person looking down from the ceiling. That’s just what happened this summer in Bryson City, North Carolina.
Bryson City is a very small tourist town and when I say small, I mean really small. Bryson City doesn’t even have a Walmart. But, this town still managed to have a bit of excitement when they discovered they had a peeper on their hands. The peeper chose the Ingle’s supermarket to do his peeping. Now, I know this story may sound silly, but it’s true. Ingle’s is a very large grocery store and the bathrooms are located in a place where they wouldn’t get very much attention. In fact, you go through one door and then go into the restroom door. The male and female bathrooms are side-by-side making it very easy for the Ingle’s peeper to enter the men’s restroom, crawl through the ceiling, and look down into the women’s restroom.
Let’s pause for a moment and think about this. If you looked up and saw someone watching you from the ceiling, what would you do? Personally, I’d scream, yank up my pants, and run; first, stopping to wash my hands, of course. But honestly, what could this guy see, from the ceiling, besides butts? It obviously wouldn’t be easy to see anything else. I have to wonder though, how many other men have tried this stunt and not gotten caught? I also have to wonder about the woman who reported this incident. Who would you report the Ingle’s peeper to? Would you go to the manager and tell him there was a peeper in the ladies restroom or would you simply call the cops. Or, would you be too embarrassed to do anything at all? I think I would have probably called the cops, because honestly the managers at the Ingle’s in Bryson City are some of dumbest people I have ever had the misfortune to meet, not to mention they’re rude. But still, I would hope they would act appropriately to having a peeper in this store.
Now, you may be thinking that this Ingle’s peeper was an older gentleman. You know the type, the middle aged man who most just refer to as the dirty old man, but you’d be wrong. Actually the Ingle’s peeper was a man in his 20’s. The Ingle’s peeper had actually been crawling into Ingle’s bathroom for several weeks. The cops found the Ingle’s peeper after someone reported having seen him. They waited outside the bathroom door and when a man emerged covered in dirt, they knew they’d found the Ingle’s peeper.
