One of the best ways to see the beautiful fall foliage is to ride your way through the mountains. The event takes place at Fontana Village Resort and is a great way to meet fellow bikers. At the event you’ll be able to enjoy great food, concerts, and of course great biking. Enjoy such famous biking routes as the Dragon and the Hellbender, as you bike your way through the mountains.

Right outside of Bryson City, North Carolina is the town of Whittier. If you love arts and crafts, you must make it to this festival. If you love chili, this will be one of your favorite fall activities. At the Bryson City Chili Cook Off you’ll be able to try several different types of chili as well as vote on your favorite type. Three awards will given that include cash and trophies. The three winners will be based on the Judge’s Choice, People’s Choice, and Showmanship. There will also be craft booths available which gives you another chance to purchase local arts and crafts.

If you own an old car, or just love looking at them, this will be one of your favorite fall activities. Cherokee is located only 10 miles from Bryson City, North Carolina making it easy to cruise on over and enjoy the show. If you can’t make it in the fall, there is also a rod run in the spring as well.

One of the most popular types of fall activities in Bryson City, North Carolina is arts and crafts festivals. One of the best of those festivals is the Mountain Shapes and Colors festival. This wonderful festival takes place at the Southwestern Community College location which is right outside of the city limits. The festival features arts and crafts from 26 different Western North Carolina counties. There will be everything from jewelry to watercolors to beeswax candles. This festival is a must for tourists and locals.
