Straightening Hair with a HERSTYLER

Girls Hair, Straightening Hair

I am the proud mother of three daughters. Every one of my daughters has a different hair texture. The texture ranges from my oldest daughter having super curly hair to my youngest having loose curls. Managing their hair can sometimes be a nightmare. Washing their hair is easy, but once it is time to comb their hair, the nightmare begins.

Combing curly hair takes time and patience. Unlike my own straight hair, their curls have to be combed with finesse. I have to section the hair and start with small strokes. Section by section the hair is combed through. My middle daughter hates her curls. Many days she just throws it into a curled mess she calls a pony tail. I decided to make their life, and my own, easier. I decided that I would begin to straighten their hair. For those people who have curly hair know, this task is time consuming and the product used is extremely important.

I first began using an old fashioned hair straightening comb that heats up on the stove. I bought it from my local Sally’s Beauty Supply shop www.sallybeauty.com. This product definitely took time and experience to learn how to use. Because I used the stove to heat the iron, I never knew how hot it was. There was no temperature setting. I burned my girls’ hair on more than one occasion. Over time though, I became quite the hair stylist! My girls’ hair looked like they had just left the beauty salon. But doing hair in the kitchen, next to a hot stove and with no mirror or way to control the temperature, was not ideal for me.

After a few years of the stove I was done. I went back to Sally’s and bought an electric flat iron. The flat iron had ceramic plates and was supposed to not burn, while keeping the heat controlled. For all of my daughters, this iron was not good enough! I could not believe it. One daughter’s hair was too thick so the heat was not hot enough, and my other two girls’ hair were too thin and the iron did not clamp down tight enough to pull the curl out. I was frustrated. I went back to the stove. Again I became hot and frustrated and I was ready for another electric iron.

Last month I was debating on buying a different iron, but this time I was determined to ask other people what they used and liked before I made a decision. After a few weeks, I was convinced that the HERSTYLER www.herstyler.com was the item that was in. I ran to the mall to get one.

The HERSTYLER was an item sold at a kiosk in the middle of the mall. I had seen them there before, but never bothered to have a demonstration. The day I went I was alone. The employee offered to demonstrate on a wig made from real human hair, so I obliged. I was instantly impressed. Not only could the flat iron be used to straighten hair, but if the hair was wrapped around the iron and pulled down, the iron created a very pretty spiral curl. The item was offered in more than one size and different pretty colors. You could even get one of their tattooed stylers! I was eager to buy one and go home to play.

As soon as I put my pretty, bright green HERSTYLER in my daughter’s hair I was impressed. The HERSTYLER has an on and off switch, as well as a temperature control and it gets extremely hot. I am able to adjust the heat according to which one of my daughter’s hair that I am straightening. What I really like is that the iron heats up in 25 seconds. The plates are ceramic and the company claims that it will not burn the hair, as long as the hair is real. I no longer have to suffer in the kitchen or worry if I judged the temperature correctly before putting the iron on my daughter’s hair. I look forward to using this item for a long time and I recommend it to anyone who is looking for the perfect hair flat iron.
