Stacked Living Room Table Display

Coffee Tables

No one can really keep up with the ever-changing trends of clothing, cars, furnishings, and other things. As soon as something fabulous comes onto the market, it’s out, and something else is in. The best you can do is to choose things that you think will stand the test of time. But sooner or later, things get old, and no matter what you do, they just don’t fit in anymore. If you’ve got some of those old, wooden coffee tables and end tables, and there’s nothing you can do to improve the way they are perceived, just go ahead and treat yourself to new living room tables. Those old, ugly tables can be used in a different manner so that you can use them for many more years.

An old coffee table and set of end tables can be quickly turned into a substantial set of cabinets, which are really unique. Use the tables as a place to show off your trophies or collectibles, a cabinet to store things – with places for knickknacks – or a useful storage unit. Since it takes just a minute to stack them so the cabinet can be built that fast.

Although there are different sets of tables that you can use to make a display or storage unit, one type that works really well is the kind that has a bulky coffee table, and two end tables – with doors that open. You’ll create one design for the cabinet if you leave the doors on the end tables; you’ll have a different look if you remove the doors and hinges. If you happen to have two mismatched end tables, which are of the same style but different shapes, you can really craft an intriguing cabinet.

Set the coffee table against a wall so that the front of it faces outward. The back of the table should be against the wall. Stand an end table on the coffee table – right in the middle – and stand the second end table on the very top. That’s it! The stacked tables instantly look like an unusual cabinet, and can be used in many ways. Use them as a display, a storage cabinet, a china cabinet, or another type.

If the tables are wobbly in any way, or if you just want to make sure they’re really secure, you can screw them to each other, going inside the first end table, and screwing it to the coffee table, and then doing the same thing to attach the second end table to the first one. After that, all you have to do is set up your display or cabinets; the coffee table and end tables will last for many more years.
