Sober X Hangover Patch Claims Hangover’s Won’t ‘Stick’ Around

Does it Work, Hangover Remedy, Turkey Hill

They can help you quit smoking. They can keep you from getting pregnant. And, this nifty little invention that at one time just allowed us to keep a pair of pants a little longer can now help prevent a hangover.

In recent years, topical patches have been introduced in various aspects of the healthcare field. And, unlike its fabric store counterparts, no needle and thread required. Perhaps the most common patch helps smokers quit (ex: Nicoderm). A few years back, drug companies introduced the birth control patch. (ex: OrhoEvra.)

Several months ago at Turkey Hill, this reporter noticed a hangover patch– something anyone who partakes in partying would greatly appreciate. After all, hangovers stink. Wouldn’t it be grand to just ‘stick it and forget it?’ rather than take that tablespoon of honey before bed or try one of those other ‘after the fact’ remedies?

The SoberX Hangover Free Topical Patch is the brand that seems to have the market covered when it comes to hangover patches. The company claims its patches allow users to “wake up renewed and refreshed.”

An Herbal Cocktail:
The SoberX Hangover Patch contains a, shall we say cocktail, of herbs: Milk Thistle, Artichoke, Green Tea and Vitamin C. These herbal ingredients are designed to supply the body with antioxidant effects needed to prevent hangovers. SoberX says its ingredients are “FDA Generally Recognized,” and that the patches have been clinically tested.

How it Works:
SoberX’s hangover patch works similar to the Nicoderm patch. The small, discreet patch is infused with an ultra-concentrated formula. Using “advanced physiological technology,” the formula is released into the user’s bloodstream throughout the evening. Unlike other remedies (such as aspirin), the patch’s ingredients are instantly absorbed into the skin and do not have to wait to travel through the digestive system.

So, Does it Work?
Jennifer Prior of Wired Magazine reviewed the herbal SoberX hangover patch and rated it a 5/10. While she claims she woke up after a wild night with a clear head, she can’t pinpoint the results to the patch, as she also drank water before bed. Also, she reports, her drinking buddies, who also donned the patches, weren’t so lucky. Prior added that a week later, she still had a gluey-outline leftover from where she placed the patch.

What Will it Set Me Back?
A one-month supply of patches- that is a box of 12 is $24.95 via Sober-X.com. Similar patches can be found at convenient store checkouts in single packets for around $4.
