Snack Review: Kraft Macaroni & Cheese Crackers, Mild Cheddar Flavor

Cheddar, Cheese Crackers, Crackers, Gram

When you think about macaroni and cheese you get the image of a bowl of pasta mixed with delicious cheese sauce. What if the macaroni and cheese was transformed into crackers? When I saw the box of Kraft Macaroni & Cheese Crackers in mild cheddar flavor I wasn’t sure what to make of it. Ever willing to try a new product, I figured why not.

Availability and Price:
They can be found at major grocery stores and cost almost $3.00 for a 8 ounce (227 grams) box. In addition to the mild cheddar flavor they also currently come in Cheddar and White Cheddar flavors.

Smell:
There’s a slight waft of cheese if you stick your nose in the bag, but that’s about it. As far as holding up the cracker to my nose and taking a whiff, I would have gotten more of a cheese smell had I stuck the product up my nose. There was basically no smell to it.

Look of the product and it’s packaging:
It resembles the box of macaroni and cheese that Kraft makes. The crackers resemble the macaroni and cheese after it’s cooked.

Taste:
The flavor is okay. Not great, but okay. I expected more of a cheese punch to it considering that it’s crunchy baked cheese crackers in mild cheddar. I asked for a second opinion from a relative and got the same opinion. They add a nice light cheese flavor if you throw them in some tomato soup though. However, eating them as a snack I’m not so thrilled. They’re a little too salty for me as well.

Final thoughts:
I can take this product or leave it. Considering I’m not that excited about it, I’m probably going to leave it and not buy them again. However, since I don’t hate them, I’m going to suggest giving them a try, you may just love them.
