Small Sized Trucks Big on Value

Chevy, Ford, Ford Ranger, Mpg

If you are in the market of a small sized truck then you’ve come to the right place. I am going to compare some of the best small sized trucks for you.

When it comes to having a vehicle I really believe everyone should have a pick up truck. Having a pick up truck allows you to do so much more then you can with a standard car. Trucks nowadays give you most of the comforts that you would find in a car plus the benefits of a pickup bed.

With the truck manufactures offering trucks with the option of extended and crew cabs there great for a family vehicle.

Even the small trucks offer the option of an extended cab. This option allows you to take a vehicle that only would fit 2-3 people in it to now fit from 4-6 people making it great for the whole family.

One draw back of a small truck is there width. They are not as wide as some other vehicles so if you put larger people in it can get cramped. However this is not normally a problem for the average person.

In the list I also included two mixed breed (for lack of better term) vehicles. These two trucks are actually a cross between an SUV and a pick up truck. They normally have the interior and seating of a SUV. While they still have the bed of a pick up truck. The bed is normally significantly smaller then that of a pick up truck.

The rankings below are all for 2010 models. All these rankings are done by US News and Reports.

These prices are not the actual price. They are just suggested prices. The price you actually pay would be agreed upon by both you and the car dealer. The are many variables in determining the price; Location that you live in, dealers incentives to sell, options to the vehicle.

Ford explore sport track $26,210 to $35,580

Fuel Mileage

Depending on your specific needs this could greatly influence the small truck you buy. If you are traveling a far distance per day you will want a better gas Mileage. However you should note that most of these small trucks come with engine options. The engine options are normally a choice between a 4 cylinder and 6 cylinder.

While you do get more miles per gallon of fuel out of the smaller 4 cylinder engine you do give up power. The power may be more important then the fuel mileage if you are planning to haul heavy loads, or trailer something. Such as a boat.
