Skin Deep in Olive Oil – Recipe for a Great Face!

Loose Skin, Sophia Loren

Would your spouse rather take a porcupine to bed than have you and your dry, chapped skin lying next to them? Well hang on, there’s help in a bottle. It’s healthy, reasonably priced and works!

Olive oil, its not just for cooking. It is one of the best beauty aids around. And to make it even more enticing, it is healthy for you. So don’t be afraid of this natural beauty aid.

Famed movie actress, Sophia Loren, was noted for her young looking, flawless skin. What was her secret? She used olive oil. Yes, olive oil. She would smooth it on every night. That seems easy enough!

When applied to the skin, olive oil penetrates. It softens the skin and helps heal those little dry splotchy spots. Its absolutely wonderful for those newly shaven legs.

When you are applying olive oil, a wee bit, the size of a dime can go a very long way. Try not to use too much, as you will get the oil on everything. But when using a small amount and rubbing it in, it will be absorbed and not come off on clothes, sheets, etc.

It has been said that olive oil will tighten loose skin. Yeah, those little wrinkles we all acquire. Take two egg yolks and beat them in half a cup of olive oil. Brush it on your face and throat and allow it to set for about 10 minutes. Then beat the whites of the eggs and smooth this over the yolk layer. Leave on for about half an hour and rinse it off. Your skin should appear tighter and have fewer wrinkles.

There is a bonus for using olive oil on your skin. It can actually help drop your cholesterol. Remember, the skin absorbs it. Not only does olive oil reduce the bad LDL cholesterol, it actually raises the good HDL cholesterol. It’s a win-win situation!

This is just one of the uses of olive oil. It has been around forever. It was mentioned over two hundred times in the Bible. And was one of the few specific foods mentioned by Jesus as a healing food.

It has been used for everything from aging, to fluid-retention, to pain and wounds. If you haven’t used olive oil as a beauty aid or alternative medicine, you may be missing out!

Many prefer to use extra virgin olive oil. I know I do. Olive oil is either on your kitchen shelf or sitting on your grocer’s shelf waiting on you!
