Fun and Relaxing Facial Mask Recipes

Avacado, Eye Puffiness

Looking for a facial mask to moisturize your skin? Or, do you have some blemishes you’d like to clear up? Hosting a slumber party and need some fun ideas? Try a homemade facial mask! They are less expensive than store bought masks, and can be just as effective. Here are a few recipes to try:

NOTE: If you have very sensitive skin, you might want to test a small patch of skin first to be safe.

Facial Mask Recipe #1
: Cucumber Mask

This one treats oily skin.

1 Egg White
1/2 Cucumber
1 tsp mint

1. Place all ingredients in a food processor or blender.
2. Puree until smooth.
3. Refrigerate for at least 15 minutes.
4. Gently apply the cucumber mask to your face and let it sit for 15-20 minutes.
5. Rinse thoroughly with warm water.

Facial Mask Recipe #2: Banana Mask

This one is moisturizes your skin.

1 banana (ripened of course)
5 tablespoons of ground oats
1 tablespoon of honey

1. Mash the banana with a banana masher or spoon.
2. Add oats and honey.
3. Damped face
4. Spread the banana mixture on face.
5. Relax for 20 minutes or so.
6. Rinse with warm water.

Facial Mask Recipe #3: Tomato Mask

This one might help blemished skin.

1 Ripe Tomato
1 tablespoon of Instant Oatmeal
1 teaspoon of lemon juice

1. Chop tomato.
2. Place all ingredients in a food processor or blender.
3. Blend everything until mixed together. (Do not overblend, a few seconds is perfect.)
4. Apply mask to skin.
5. Let sit for 10-15 minutes, then rub off with a warm washcloth.

Facial Mask Recipe #4: Strawberry Mask

This one will help remove impurities from your skin, and perhaps take away the “tired” look.

5 medium ripe strawberries (best if a little squishy)
2 teaspoons of heavy cream
1 teaspoon honey

1. Rinse strawberries with water and blot with a paper towel to dry.
2. Mask strawberries with a banana masher or fork.
3. Add the honey and cream, stir well with a spoon.
4. Apply the strawberry mixture to face.
5. Relax for 30 minutes.
6. Remove with a warm washcloth.

Facial Mask Recipe #5: Peach Mask

This one might firm your skin a little.

1 Peach
1 Egg White

1. Peel peach and remove pit. Cut into small pieces.
2. Place in blender or food processor.
3. Blot the mask on your face – be careful not to rub it in.
4. Let sit for 30 minutes.
5. Rinse with cool water.

Facial Mask Recipe #6: Pineapple Melon Mask

This is a nice fruity moisturizing mask.

1/4 cup of fresh pineapple
1/4 cup of melon
1/2 cup of seltzer water

1. Place all ingredients in a food processor or blender.
2. Blend until mixture is smooth.
3. Dampen face.
4. Apply mask to face.
5. Relax for 15-20 minutes.
6. Rinse with cool water.

Facial Mask Recipe #7: Avocado Mask

This is an excellent moisturizing mask.

1 avocado
2 teaspoons of extra virgin olive oil.

1. Peel avocado and remove pit.
2. Mash the avacado with a fork or banana masher.
3. Add olive oil.
4. Mix.
5. Relax for 10 minutes.
6. Rinse with warm water.

To heighten the facial experience, place cucumber slices over your eyes. This will reduce eye puffiness.
