Shaq Blames Kobe for His Divorce?

Shaq blames Kobe for his divorce in a freestyle rap he unleashed in a NYC club recently. It’s a story blazing popular gossip sites like Bossip. The rap lyric went like this -“I’m a horse, Kobe ratted me out, that’s why I’m getting divorced.” What Shaq is referring to is Kobe’s 2003 rape case in which he told the world that Shaq cheats on his wife all the time, but pays the women to be quiet. Apparently, Shaq feels this event was the beginning of his marital woes. Is he right or is he wrong?

Shaq’s Right
In certain ways, Shaq is right to be angry at Kobe for ratting him out. Why? Kobe only did it to make his own misdeeds seem palatable to the public. He didn’t let the world (and Shaq’s wife) know about his colleague’s affairs out of concern or love. This is always a wrong move. It’s the type of move that causes marital strife along with divorce because the people on the receiving end are taken by surprise and don’t quite know how to deal with the exposure of an affair – or affairs. So shame on Kobe for bringing his teammates into his ugly rape case. Yet, Shaq isn’t totally innocent.

Shaq’s Wrong
Ultimately, Shaq blaming Kobe for his divorce is ridiculous. If Shaq hadn’t been cheating on his wife, Kobe would have never had ammunition to use against him. As a matter of fact, if professional athletes like Shaq would take the lead in being faithful to their wives and girlfriends, the new younger men entering into the league might behave more appropriately. So ultimately, Shaq is to blame for his divorce not Kobe. Kobe is just an outsider looking in and tattling about what he sees.

Shaq’s Recant
So far, Kobe has not responded to Shaq’s allegations. And, in a surprising move, Shaq has come out as the great MC that he is and explained that his words (rap) were not serious. He is just a funny freestyler. In reality, he has no problem with Kobe. Hhm? Sounds like a man who doesn’t want any more negative publicity.

Do I believe that Shaq blames Kobe for his divorce? Yes. I think he and Kobe have had a rocky relationship for years and all has never truly been forgiven. So, in a moment of truth, Shaq let Kobe have it in a way he’s probably always wanted to. Hopefully, now that he’s feelings are off his chest, Shaq can let it all go. After all, everyone knows Kobe is kind of a prick. He’s just the kind of prick that has so much talent that we all put up with him. Shaq is actually the nice guy out of the pair and he shouldn’t let his teammate turn him into a hateful person. Plus, rumors have it that he and wife Shaunie are hanging out again. Maybe they might do a flip-flop on us and stay together after all.
