My husband and I stayed at Serenity Springs in Michigan City, Indiana. If your looking for a romantic getaway, or a some time to relax, you might be interested in staying a night or two at Serenity Springs.
Carriage Ride to Your Bungalow
Pulling into the resort with the surrounding woods and multiple lakes immediately melted stress away. It was beautiful and peaceful. Once we checked in we were thrilled to take a horse drawn carriage ride to our bungalow. I think that is a wonderful touch. Everyone receives a horse drawn carriage ride, or if it is snowing you are taken in a horse drawn sled to your bungalow.
The View From Your Bungalow
Once inside our bungalow we were impressed with the beautiful view. Our windows faced the lake and it was lovely watching the ducks and swans swimming. Serenity Springs furnishes food so you can sit outside and feed the ducks and swans too.
Bungalow Room Features
The Jacuzzi is built right into the heated floor in front of a roaring fire place. The whole room was beautifully decorated and warmly inviting. It is a open concept and everything is located in one room. The only other room is the bathroom which features a shower and toilet.
The refrigerator was stocked with pop, water and juice. There were also lots of snacks for us to munch on during the night. We did not have to bring anything. Serenity Springs furnishes everything you need and more. You could tell a lot of work was put into making you feel comfortable and relaxed.
Climbing into the bed was an experience in itself. It was comparable to sliding into a soft comfy down bed. I only wish my own mattress at home was as comfortable.
Dinner
You can choose to have dinner brought in from a local restaurant. They set it up in your bungalow and you can dine by romantic candle light with your partner. My husband and I did just that. The food was wonderful and plentiful. You can opt for ordering pizza delivery, but the candle light dinner is just so much more romantic.
Television DVD CD
Serenity Springs does furnish a television, DVD player and a CD player in your room. The sound system in our cottage was awesome. If your did not bring a DVD don’t worry. They have many to choose from when you check in. You can pick one and take it back to your bungalow with you.
There is a butter door in the bungalows. One door is on the inside and another on the outside. This is one of the neatest features of the bungalows. It is like goody central. There is a light that turns red when you have a surprise waiting for you inside this little box area. We did add a package that they offered in February, where they leave snacks and goodies in your box. About every hour until 10 p.m. the light would go on and we could not wait to see what was waiting for us. A Cheese ball, crackers and everything you need to make your own smores were just a couple of our surprises. It was a very nice added touch. Since there is no phone in your cottage, this is also a way to communicate with the staff. If you need anything, just put a note in the box and flip the light on. They make periodic rounds and pick up any messages.
Barbeque Fire Pit Fishing
The deck outside features a gas barbeque grill and a gas fire pit too. If you love to fish, you can do that too. They even supply the fishing poles.
Extra Packages
They do have several packages you can add to your stay. We added the Rose Petal Package which included Champagne, chocolates, bubble bath, silk rose petals around our tub, candles and much more. This was a great deal for only an additional $40.00. They even offer packages that include massages and your own personal robes. They do have a ladies night out package for those women looking for a night out with friends.
Recommendations Overall Review
Our stay at Serenity Springs was one of best times my husband and I have ever enjoyed. It was peaceful, relaxing and romantic. I would definitely recommend Serenity Springs to everyone. I know we will definitely be going back.
