One of the roudiest events in Montana is the Annual Testicle Festival held in Clinton, Montana. This event is an adults-only event that includes good drink, good food and rowdy fun. While you are in the area you will want to take advantage of the numerous attractions and outdoor recreation opportunities that are at your feet, most of which are free of charge.
Testicle Festival Information
The Testicle Festival is held at the Rock Creek Lodge in mid-summer, usually at the end of July or the first week of August. For example, in 2009 the Testicle Festival will be July 29 – August 2. You can the festival venue by taking I-90 to Exit 126. You can’t miss the Rock Creek Lodge it is a large, multi-story building and there will be signs to guide you to your destination. The Rock Creek Lodge offers lodging in the form of camping spots and RV spots. If you don’t want to rough it you can find more lodging options in nearby towns like Missoula and East Missoula.
The Testicle Festival is a weekend event that includes live music, Rocky Mountain Oysters (battered and deep fried bull testicles) and alcohol. There are also wet T-shirt contests, car contests and other backwoods entertainment.
Planning Your Vacation
The greatest part about the Testicle Festival is its location. It is close to many great tourist attractions and outdoor recreation sites. You can go rafting, fishing, hiking or you can go to a local wildlife viewing area. If you are interested in floating the local rivers, there are several to choose from, then you can rent an inner tube from a local gas station and go tubing, you can bring your own raft from home or you can book a guided rafting trip from a local river guide like 10,000 Waves.
If you are interested in shopping then you will want to drive into the town of Missoula, which is just a few minutes from Clinton, Montana. Here you will find the Southgate Mall, which is the city’s main shopping mall, as well as several shopping districts. For eclectic and unusually shopping options you will want to focus your attention on Downtown Missoula, and if you are interested in shopping at outlet stores and common retail department stores then you will want to make your way to the Northgate shopping district.
Getting around is easy this time of year. If you fly into the Missoula International Airport you can get to the Testicle Festival by taking I-90 from the airport East to Exit 126. You will most likely need to rent a car at the airport to get where you need to go on your vacation as Taxi service and public transportation is limited in Missoula and its outlying neighbors. If you drive in you will find that the roads in this part of Montana are in good condition and are well marked for easy navigation. However, if you get lost you can always pull over and ask directions. This is a friendly state and most people will be willing to help you out.
