Review of Olay Regenerist Eye Derma-Pod Anti-Aging System

Olay Regenerist, Regenerist, Self Tanning Product, Younger Looking Skin

There is no fountain of youth. No matter how many anti-aging products I try, I can’t find any that reduce wrinkles and make my skin look younger. I am 51 years old, and have those laugh lines next to my eyes, which I’d like to get rid of. I don’t know if it’s even possible. I do know that the Olay Regenerist Eye Derma-pod’s didn’t help.

In all fairness to them, Olay suggests that you also use Regenerist eye lifting serum in conjunction with their Derma-pods, which I didn’t do. I did, however, use other anti-aging eye creams.

Description

These are indeed unusual Derma-pods for the eye area. They remind me of a self tanning product I used this summer. Each pod contains a small amount of liquid (the “response system”) contained in a tiny foil pouch. The pouch is connected to a small, white foam applicator. There are 24 Derma-pod applicators per package, enough for 8 weeks of treatment.

Directions for Use

* Squeeze the silver foil pouch to release the product into the foam pad. (You’ll hear it “pop”)
* Close one eye and dab the product to the eye area, avoiding the eye itself.
* Start at the inner corner of eye and massage gently in a circular motion across upper eye area, keeping foam flat against skin. Massage each eye consecutively for 1 minute.

My Experience

As instructed for best results, these were used three times a week, during my morning routine. They are extremely easy to use, with no mess. The pods contain a fair amount of seemingly clear fluid (I couldn’t really see it) to easily massage into both eye areas. There is no noticeable odor associated with the formula. It absorbs quite easily leaving no oily or greasy residue behind. Olay says you might experience temporary sensitivity upon application, but I didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary.

I wasn’t crazy about the cost ($28!), but if it worked it would be worth it. I still think it’s very expensive, and since it didn’t work, it’s a lot of money wasted. I have noticed NO improvement in my eye area, no reduction in the puffiness, no less wrinkles, no younger looking skin. Some anti-wrinkle creams contain Hyaluronic Acid, but these Derma-pods do not. (In 2003 the FDA approved Hyaluronic Acid injections for filling soft tissue defects.)

Over the past two months, I have had a bit of fluid retention, and my eyes are very puffy when I awake several times a week. They usually stay this way until I have been up for a while and had a few cups of coffee. I had high hopes that this product would work, because I’ve heard good things about Olay products, but unfortunately they didn’t work for me. I am 51 years old, and my wrinkles are not at all deep – they are fine laugh lines. This may work for someone younger, but it didn’t help me at all.
