Review of Makeup Forever Mat Velvet + Matifying Foundation in Golden Beige

Foundation Makeup, Makeup Forever, Pressed Powder

I have been plagued with oily skin since I was a teenager. No matter how many different matifying products I have used, I have in the long run always been disappointed with the short lived results. I have tried many different lotions, and foundations which promised to keep oil at bay all day long, and while some worked well at first, the results changed over long term use, and ended up going right back to being oily on my forehead and upper cheeks.

After being told about the Makeup Forever line of cosmetics, I went ahead and did a little research to try and find a new foundation that would be suiting to my needs. This was how I came across Makeup Forever Mat Velvet + Matifying Foundation.

This foundation promises a water resistant wear, that will mattify with an oil free powdery like finish that lasts for hours.

I was skeptical that it would work, let alone last for hours while keeping my skin shine free. However I went ahead and made the purchase based solely on the raving reviews from others with oily skin, who swore by it.

My Use:

I used Makeup Forever Mat Velvet + Matifying Foundation over a primer for better long lasting results. The foundation was a little bit runny in comparison to what I was used to, and coverage was not as flawless as what I was used to from my previous foundation.

Makeup Forever Mat Velvet + Matifying Foundation goes on easily, and a little does go a long way which was surprising considering the runny texture.

As it dries it does leave behind a powdery flawless finish, which I really liked, and again I was surprised that the texture of runny lotion transformed into a glove like perfect finish.

The color I chose was Golden Beige which works well on those who have slight tanned skin, I also always buy a darker foundation, because it can be mixed with other lighter foundations for the perfect hue of color.

Last:

So the foundation looked good. It did not provide as much cover as far as blemishes were concerned, but I was able to fix that issue up by applying a pressed powder on top of this foundation.

Regardless of how nice the finish was, my main concern was primarily the oil and shine control that this one supposedly would supply.

I can happily report that my skin was oil free and shine free for the entire day. The only time I needed to add some pressed powder was about 8 hours into the day, and that was only to freshen up my skin. Oil and shine were not even present.

Overall:

Makeup Forever Mat Velvet + Matifying Foundation is a little bit pricey, but you will spend a heck of a lot more money in the long run on lotions, foundations and shine free pressed powders to try and mimic these perfect results.

If oily skin, or shiny skin has been a lifelong issue, I think many of you will find a solution in Makeup Forever Mat Velvet + Matifying Foundation. Definitely worth the money.
