I have been a customer of Comcast for 5 years and have learned a lot about what the company has to offer. I am the person in our household that takes care of the bills and keeps our services up to date. There are some awesome things I love about Comcast and there are some things I am not to fond of. Where I live they are the only company that provides cable, Internet, local and long distance phone.
One thing that really irritates me is Comcast’s lack of customer loyalty. When they started the 99 dollar deal for all new customers I got a letter in the mail saying all three of our services were going up. Not only were services going up but they were going to take our 5 dollar discount for having all three services. I gave Comcast a call; of course I got to play pass the angry customer. The only answer I got, after about an hour on the phone, was this is something only for new customers. I was so mad, so unless I wanted to close our current account and open another one in someone else’s name I was out of luck! This aggravated me to no end, so after cooling down I called them back. I refused to get off the phone unless they could find a cheaper package for the services I had. They of course had no problem with that but what bothered me is the plan I ended up going with was never presented to me at any time before. If you want to see if there are cheaper plans you have to call and ask. To me that seems a little underhanded and I feel bad for people who don’t know this.
Comcast also charges for pretty much everything you could think of; this includes everything from remote controls to paying a fee when you change your service package at any time. They also have really high installation fees as well as activation fees. You really have to be careful about asking for something; make sure you ask if there is a fee attached. Nothing stinks more then when you get a bill in the mail that is a lot more then you had expected; especially if you are on a tight budget!
I do love Comcast Internet, it really is as fast as it claims to be. I am able to have several windows open on the Internet and can download things super fast. There is no delay or waiting for things. I do a lot on-line so this is really important to me. I also love the picture sharing program they offer as well. Uploading and downloading pictures is really fast! The program is user friendly.
Comcast does have great cable as well and the picture is awesome. The most wonderful feature is on-demand. You have the opportunity to watch so many shows and movies for free; there is something for everyone including little ones. If you want to pay a fee you can also record shows you like on on-demand and watch them when you want to. This is a great feature for people who are busy but really enjoy a series on TV.
