Recommended Seattle Concerts: June Events

Along with an enormous amount of great shows, June plays host to (at least) 3 full fledged festivals. First there is the Georgetown Music Festival, It’s gonna be goin’ down the weekend of June 13th and 14th, with lineups for both Friday and Saturday. Then there is the Noise for the Needy – a benefit series happening over the course of 5 days from Wed, June 11th thru Sun, June 15th. The lineup is beyond stellar and I haven’t even included any of the individual shows in this post. I can only suggest you check out LB’s sum-up here. The 3900′ Festival is happening in Oregon, June 27-28. Its chock full of independent Northwest bands hailing from all over Washington and Oregon. This festival is easy on the wallet, easy on the ears and easy on the planet with a goal for a zero carbon footprint.

Local record label, Light in the Attic, is unleashing their best bands upon us all this month. Black Angels play the 11th, Blakes are back in town for the 24th and the Saturday Knights round out the month with a CD release on the 27th.

Be sure to check out all the recommended Seattle music listings in our Concert Calendar.

The Purrs play the Comet this Friday, and they’ll be featuring a brand new guitarist, Dr. Robert Silverstein. This show will also be a CD-release par-tay for Half Light. Jones Family Fortune and the Delusions also play.

Sat, June 7th

The Intelligence –
Mayyors (Sacto, Ex-FM Knives) –
The Pleasureboaters –
Non Dudes
@ Funhouse 9:30pm, $7

-from LB- I really enjoyed the Pleasureboaters’ spazzy debut record, ¡Gross!, and I “recall” thinking that the Intelligence were super-good when I saw them at the C-Hill Block Party last year. I might’ve been hammered. This Saturday at the Funhouse should be a rockin’ good time.

Sat, June 7th
