The world of comic book collecting is not for everyone. Just like any other collectible it truly needs to be your passion for you to gain any pleasure out of comic books. First some background of how you would need to approach comic books especially if you want to collect rare Marvel Comic Books.

First comic books come in different age sections there are Bronze Age comics which are from 1970-1979, Silver Age is 1956-1969, and Golden Age is 1938-1956. Golden Age is of course the rarest of comic books.

Marvel Comics #1 – This is rare not only because it was the first issue ever printed but it was printed twice. This specific comic was actually auctioned off in February because selling it was just not good enough. This comic was printed in 1939.

Strange Tales # 114 – This one was printed in 1951, most Strange Tales are collectible and being sold for high amounts. The heroes were cowboys instead of people with special powers.

Wolverine # 4 – This comic is one in a long line of very popular X-Men Marvel comic books. But this one is currently selling for 175.00 on average. This one was published in 1982 and is already selling for this high price. This comic focuses mostly on the character Wolverine and his exploits instead of all of the X-Men team.

Captain Marvel #1 1968 – This was the first Captain Marvel in 1968. He originated from a comic book Marvel Super Heroes previously and than received his own comic in 1968. Silver Surfer #1 1968 – This was the start of a very popular persona in Marvel comic books. This is the premier edition where he is introduced for the first time which also makes it very prized. The Incredible Hulk # 1 1962 – This is one of the most prized Marvel comic books out on the market currently. Daredevil # 1 – This is the premier of Daredevil “The man without fear”. This comic is different due the hero being handicapped by blindness. Yet that was actually what gave him his acute senses.
