Product Review: ROHTO Eye Drops

Eye Drops

I’ve never heard of designer eye drops before.

What type of “eye-opening” sensations would occur? And not being a regular eye drop user, would I be able to apply the product without poking my peepers out?

I was pleasantly surprised and all my fears were unfounded as I experienced ROHTO.

As a tech specialist, I often spend hours looking intently at computer screens, which leaves my eyes red, tired and strained (sometimes they actually hurt!), seeking relief.

And ROHTO (pronounced “row-tow”) provides that, in such a unique way.

They’re the only eye relief products on the market that not only relieve redness, dryness and irritation, but also contain a special cooling lubricant to enhance the sensation of relief and give a “kick” to tired eyes (it’s the menthol!).

A lot of eye drops can sting; that’s one of the main reasons why I’ve never liked using them (something shouldn’t have to hurt-or taste terrible-in order for it to work!).

ROHTO is also unique among eye drops because it’s packaged in a transparent bottle, allowing you to see if the product had changed color or become cloudy (if either of these things happen, throw away the remaining product).

The bottles are so cute! They’re shaped like an oval eye drop with a specially designed twist-off, push-down and snap-back cap that helps prevent contamination.

These bottles are also small, slim, portable and travel-ready. They can easily fit in your makeup bag, purse, clutch bag, backpack, or pocket.

ROHTO currently has four brands in their product line, with a different-colored cap for each one: Hydra’s the newest brand and has a white cap. Arctic has a gray cap, while Cool carries a green one. And Ice comes with a blue cap.

Hydra is ROHTO’s “new kid on the block”. It’s especially formulated to provide protection against eye dryness with hydration that’s closest to natural tears, plus ROHTO’s signature cooling sensation. It retails for $8.99 (0.4 oz.).

This was my second favorite of the four brands; it is indeed great for ‘dry eye’.

Formulated to sooth eye strain resulting from prolonged computer use, lack of sleep, long hours driving, etc., Arctic revives overworked and overtired eyes while relieving redness.

This sells for $6.99 (0.4 oz.).

I thought Arctic was extremely refreshing and the most intense; it really did feel like an arctic blast in the eyes (WOW! And I mean that in a good way.)

ROHTO Cool gets rid of daily eye redness and dryness and helps “wake up” tired peepers with a gentle cooling sensation. I also like Cool, but I prefer Arctic and Hydra; the latter two were awesome (at least my eyes thought so).

This also retails for $6.99 (0.4 oz.).

Ice reduces redness and also soothes irritation, burn and itch. It’s a strong “pick-me-up” for tired eyes with a more intense cooling sensation.

I like Ice too and found the cooling “kick” is more intense than ROHTO Cool. It’s quite pleasant.

Cool retails for $6.99 (0.4 oz.).

All ROHTO products are available at most drugstores and grocery shops nationwide. They’re also available at
www.drugstore.com.

If you wear contact lenses, remove them before using any ROHTO eye drops. Wait at least 15 minutes before re-inserting the contacts.

ROHTO can be used up to 4 times daily, one or two drops at a time for each eye.

Always check with a doctor before applying ROHTO to children and be sure keep the drops safely out of children’s reach.

(And there’s an expiration date that’s on the bottom of the box as well as the bottle’s bottom. Make sure you check it occasionally to ensure full ROHTO effectiveness!).

A leader in eye care innovation, the ROHTO formula originated in Japan. It’s now the largest-selling eye drop brand in the world.
