Product Review: Polar® Fitness Heart Rate Monitor – I Love My Polar F11

If you are serious about losing weight, you must invest in a heart rate monitor. A heart rate monitor will track the calories you are burning and help keep your heart rate at the correct zone when working out to meet your goals. My Polar F11 heart rate monitor is my savior. I can keep track of how many calories I burn during a workout and compare them to the calories I put in my body.

I found my Polar F11 by searching for heart rate monitors on Google. I read many reviews and decided to go with a Polar®. I read about the Polar F11 and thought the features would give me what I needed:

Polar OwnCal®

To know how many calories I burn during working out was my main reason for purchasing a heart rate monitor. The Polar F11 does that and more. The Polar OwnCal feature allows you to set daily and weekly goals of how many calories you want to burn so that you can achieve your total caloric goals.

Polar Fitness Test™ with OwnIndex®

I think this feature is necessary for anyone trying to improve his or her health physically. Before I had my heart rate monitor, I had no idea on how to measure my fitness level as time went by. I had nothing for comparison. With the polar fitness test, you can actually measure your aerobic fitness in five minutes. You can find out how fit you are for your age and gender. It also reminds you to retake the test every month. You will be able to view a chart of your progress on the watch.

Polar OwnCode®

This is a great feature because it prevents interference from other people’s heart rate monitors. I do not have to worry about unwanted signals from my neighbor’s heart rate monitor at the gym.

Polar Keeps U Fit™ – Own Workout Program

This feature pleasantly surprised me. The Polar F11 turns into your own personal trainer. You input information about yourself and tell it what you would like to achieve, such as losing weight or maintaining your present fitness level. It will give you assistance of how often, hard and long you must exercise.

There are many other bells and whistles included with the Polar F11 heart rate monitor. It took me a while to familiarize myself with the menus on the watch. I would suggest reading the user manual. I am going in my second year with my heart rate monitor and I cannot see myself working out without it.
