Product Review: OTT-LITE(R) TrueColor(TM) FlexArm Plus Lamp

OTT-LITE(R) TrueColor(TM) FlexArm Plus Lamp

I had a room with very dim ceiling lights and needed a powerful light for close-up detail work. A friend recommended OTT-LITE, something I never heard of, but is the best true-color light out there. When I found out they cost over $100, I thought gee, that sure is expensive, but the more and more I researched the product and people’s opinions, I saw it was well-worth the money. So, I took the plunge and splurged on an OTT-LITE(R) TrueColor(TM) FlexArm Plus Lamp. I would highly recommend it for a number of reasons.

Although OTT-LITE has many models of floor style and portable lamps, with true color lighting, this Goose-neck style lamp is extremely versatile. It has a sturdy clamp to attach to most flat surfaces from tables to desks of many sizes. The light is truly incredible and powerful. The lamp adjusts to many angles so you can focus the light exactly where you need it.

Whether you are sewing or doing fine embroidery, working with tiny beads in jewelery-making, building a computer and working with tiny components , creating graphic design or architectural drawings, any number of crafts or even reading, you will experience true light! There is no glare, eye strain and most importantly there is great clarity in what you are seeing. It is low heat so you don’t feel hot sitting for hours close to a bright lamp, like you may experience with other table and floor lamps, especially those tree style lamps with multiple bulbs. The illumination is actually soothing so the whole lighting experience is naturally balanced, yet focused. The bulb lasts up to 10,000 hours, so it will be a long time before you need to replace a bulb! I have had mine for 5 years and it is still going strong. It mounts easily and is portable so I can easily move it from one room to another depending on what project it is needed for. You can get this model for about $110 on Amazon.com, or it is sold in fabric stores such as Joann Fabrics or in art stores such as Dick Blick. I have never heard anyone say anything bad about OTT Light and anyone I know who has one only has glowing things to say about them, which is why I bought one in the first place. This is a high quality product I would highly recommend to anyone.
