Product Review of the Enell, Oprah’s Favorite Bra

Body Armor, Sports Bra, Sports Bras

The bigger the bust, the more important it becomes to find a good, sturdy sports bra. As a busty girl, I have spent years searching for the perfect one. When I stumbled across an article discussing the wonders of the Enell sports bra, I was excited, to say the least. I rushed to my nearest Metro, Run & Walk, who carried the popular Enell sports bra. An hour later, I left with the best sports bra I have ever owned, which was definitely not the Enell.

Featured in “O”, “Shape”, and “Self” magazines, the Enell bra has gotten much praise from stars like Oprah. It is has been touted as a great bra for busty women. In reality, this bra has everything that I loathe about bras designed with the busty in mind.

Comfort

I understand that in order for a sports bra to be effective, it must be a bit restrictive. However, the Enell sports bra felt like body armor. First off, it snaps in the front. For anyone over a c-cup, front snapping bras can be a nightmare. In order to get your breasts into the Enell, you have to bend over, stealthily hook the front flaps under and around each of your breasts and then begin the grueling process of hooking each of the 30 or so clasps, bringing me to my next issue…..

Convenience

Once you somehow manage to squash your breasts into the bra, you have to connect each of the 30 or so hooks. You start at the bottom, where the first few hooks are actually pretty easy. The closer you get to your breasts, though, the more difficult it is to get the hooks to clasp.

Sizing

The sizing is kind of bizarre. Sizes range from 32C to 54DD, but instead of just labeling them normally, the Enell bra uses sizes 00 to 8. Why complicate the grueling sports bra search by adding an absurd sizing chart?

Support

This is the one area where the Enell sports bra does succeed, as long as you can find your right size. If, (and that is a big IF) you can get each of the hooks clasped together, you will find that your breasts hardly move at all. However, since the sizing is a little off, you may find that the Enell sports bra fits everywhere but the top sides (near your armpits), leaving a significant amount of space, which will take away from the support.

Look

Not only does the Enell sports bra feel like a piece of body armor, it looks like one too! The Enell sports bra will cost you about $50. That price wouldn’t be so ridiculous if the Enell sports bra was actually appealing. For a truly impressive (and cheaper sports bra), check out Moving Comfort sports bras.
