The Best Bras for Busty Women

Bra Shopping, Bra Size, Underwire

Nothing is more uncomfortable for a woman than too much bust and too little bra. Read our guide for the best bras for busty women online. If you are like me you face bra shopping with mixed emotions. I want a pretty bra to wear but pretty bras are not easily found if you wear a D cup or above. Most of us aren’t even sure what size we do wear. Studies show that about 80% of women are wearing the wrong size! Keep in mind too that bra size will fluctuate as your weight does, so it’s good to know how to measure yourself for one. That’s the first step. Before I show you where to go, you really need to know what to look for.

Get the Right Size

We’ve got you covered (pardon the pun) on this one. Here’s what you need to do. Put your best fitting bra on to get measured with. If you don’t have a good fitting bra then we can do it nude. First, measure your band size. Run a tape around your body just under your breasts. Pull it together and keep your arms down. Look at the tape and where your tape joins together round it up to the nearest number. That’s your band size.

Next we measure the cup size. Measure the outside of your bra, over the fullest part of your breasts. If you don’t have a decent fitting bra then bend over so that your back is parallel with the floor. Throw your tape around your back. Measure the back with the breast included at the fullest part. Put them together and keep your finger on the tape. Round to the nearest inch.

Now we figure your bust size. Subtract the band measurement from the bust measurement. How many inches do you have left? Here’s the scale.

Less than one inch AA cup

1 inch is an A cup

2 inches is a B cup

3 inches is a C cup

4 inches is a D cup

5 inches is a DD cup

6 inches is an E cup

7 inches is an F cup

8 inches is an FF cup

9 inches is a G cup

What to Look For

For the sake of this article we will say that women with D cup and above are considered busty. Busty women often need more than just a few spaghetti straps and some wire. But what do busty women really need? Well, we don’t need padding! And unfortunately, alot of bra makers add padding no matter whether you need it or not. And we don’t need wires digging into the soft underside of our breasts! Ow! What happens when it pops? Double Ow!! We do want stylish yet not too skinny straps. We want support underarms and the back of the bra to give us some lift support. And busty ladies you have to say good bye to cheap, novelty bras! Don’t shop at WalMart! Check out these wonderful stores! Busty women need more than just cheap bras from Hong Kong. Or Sri Lanka.
