The Kohler Flipside Handshower does have a unique design and allows for four separate showerheads in one unique handheld shower. The Flipside showerhead has a four style shower pattern that flips on the shower head to use each shower pattern instead of turning some part of the showerhead.

The Flipside is your uniquely designed shower head that flips instead of turning or twisting to allow for a sturdy and long lasting design. The Flipside is unique from other showerheads because of this design that can really add a flair and style to your bathroom.

The center of the showerhead pivots in a circle and allows water to flow through the one shower head pattern at a time that is pointed down toward the user. The Flipside is a one piece shower head that is sold as is without any shower hose but does come with a screen washer to keep dirt and debris out of the shower head.

The washer also keeps a tight seal on the hose you use and the shower head also comes in three styles of handle shapes. One style is a round handle, the next is square and the third is round but with a smaller shape to the body of the handle than the other two.

I received the Flipside and did not pay much attention to which I asked for to perform a review on a current Kohler product. I received the square handled version and found a holder issue; I have a round handled showerhead for my previous handheld showerhead.

The square handle was not going to fit this round holder and any other round holder I could find so I had to go with a holder that uses a post and hole type design. The holder uses a post on a fitting for the first part of the design that attaches to the pipe coming out of the wall. The second piece attaches to the hose end of the shower where the showerhead attaches and has a pivot point that uses a small nut and screw for tension.

With the weight of the showerhead this was a bit too much for the small screw and nut so I had to crank the nut down in order for the shower to not tilt too far. I had no problems using the shower head for the most part but did have to tighten the nut down a couple of times during some of the review period.

I did find that if you use a straight piece from the wall the handheld showerhead works well but this would be dependent upon your own shower setup. I did use a different hose and this solved my problem as the hose sometimes determines the shower fitting for some of the holders and not others.

Using the holder with the pivot and post worked well and the showerhead does work well for a relaxing and regular shower. The Flipside has the four distinct shower patterns with two of the four being slightly similar and the other two being similar due to the design of the shower head.

The two flat pieces of the center are more of a regular wide shower pattern and a pulsing larger pattern while the two sides of the moveable head are more concentrated. The two side patterns are a fine spray with more a flat pattern and a really small holed flat pattern.

The two sides are unique and the one with the very small holes make the water speed up quite a bit that makes for an interesting shower. This pattern side makes the air near the shower head speed up so there is a cool flow of air near the shower pattern.

This pattern is unique and relaxing during cooler months but in the dead of winter the larger patterns are more my thing. The large regular pattern that would make for a common use for regular showers works well and the other side with its more massaging pattern is quite relaxing for tired muscles.

The side opposite the fine screen is also a nice massaging spray and really gets to a smaller spot for a nice concentrated massage. The four patterns give a nice variety for day to day showers and the occasional massage or different shower to keep fun in the mix.

The Kohler Flipside is easy to install with simple threads and an enclosed rubber washer with a screen to keep the connection from leaking. The showerhead is made of durable chrome with a polished finish and seems pretty tough with the occasional drop in the shower that I have seen it take while using the showerhead.

The showerhead is not priced cheaply but it is also a very good and sturdy showerhead with a limited lifetime warranty just like many other Kohler products. The Flipside costs about $105 and is available at many home improvement stores and several places online including the Kohler website.

I really like the Kohler Flipside as a novel and unique handheld showerhead that is stylish and unique in both design and performance.
