Product Review: Crest SpinBrush Pro Whitening Toothbrush

Battery Powered, Crest, Electric Toothbrush

The Crest Spin Brush Pro Whitening toothbrush is a great, inexpensive battery-powered toothbrush for those on a budget. If you can’t afford an expensive $100 to $200 electric toothbrush, this is the toothbrush for you!

I had always used a regular manual toothbrush up until two years ago. However, I was dissatisfied with the results I was getting. I always seemed to miss key areas while brushing, and it took a long time to really reach all of the places in between my teeth.

I was browsing toothbrushes in Walmart and saw this little number for around $10, and decided to give it a try! I saw many other electric toothbrush options, but knew that I could never afford them. Even if I could have afforded it, I’m not sure I would want to spend this much money just on a toothbrush. So, I bought the Crest Spin Brush Pro Whitening toothbrush, and I’m glad I made this $10 commitment!

Use
The Crest Spin Brush Pro Whitening toothbrush is better than the manual toothbrush. It helps you reach hard-to-reach spots because you just aim the brush and it does the work of cleaning. Also, it can get into tight spots in between crooked teeth that are harder to get to with you doing the work manually. The way this Crest toothbrush is designed, there are two different parts to the toothbrush head that move, giving a more thorough cleaning.

I have also found that the battery-powered toothbrush makes you want to brush your teeth longer because it seems to be more enjoyable. You can feel the toothbrush stimulating your gums and giving a nice sensation of freshness in your mouth. It also seems to be easier not to brush too hard, because the Crest brush does part of the work for you, and it’s easier to adjust how firm you apply the brush to your teeth. The use of this brush should lead to healthier gums overall as well, as they are being stimulated while brushing.

The head of the brush is somewhat larger than what you would find with an electric toothbrush. This leads me to believe that you would have a slight advantage with the electric toothbrush in reaching really hard to reach places. However, the spinning action seems to be similar to that of the electric toothbrush.

Price and Value
The Crest Spin Brush toothbrush originally was about $10 when it first came out. The price has adjusted to around $6 now, which is well worth it. The only problem I have encountered is having to change the battery if you use it all the time. So, this means you must commit to purchasing batteries every so often to replace the ones in the toothbrush when they wear out. Sometimes I find it hard to get the bottom of the toothbrush off to change the battery! You almost have to hit the toothbrush against something to get the bottom part to come loose.

Benefits and Overall Recommendation
Although this isn’t an expensive electric toothbrush, it really does a good job of cleaning your teeth and helping with your gums. You may have a slightly less benefit with the battery powered Crest toothbrush than with an electric toothbrush, but there are still benefits over a regular hand-held manual toothbrush.

I would recommend it to anyone on a budget who can’t afford the pricey electric version. Also, it’s good to take on trips, so that if you would lose it, you wouldn’t be out the over $100 you spent on your electric toothbrush. You just have to carry spare batteries in case the brush stops working.
