Pledge into a Change – Lesbian Sororities Spreading Across the Nation

Sorority, a club of women or a women’s student organization formed chiefly for social purposes and having a name consisting of Greek letters.

Many of us are familiar with sororities that are college based and many believe that being in a sorority while in college helps in many ways. Sororities provide discipline and offers individuals opportunities to make a change for the better. Be it with community service, social activities, or just making a name for themselves. What about those who are not in college and still would like to have that sisterhood? Well, there are non college based sororities that offer the same opportunities that college sororities have. But what about lesbians and sororities? Believe it or not, there is a rise in lesbian sororities nation wide.

Many women in the lesbian community would love to make a difference but aren’t sure of what they can do or where to begin. The first step is to find a social community that is interested in the same ideas you are. There are many lesbian sororities that believe in making a difference in the LGBT community and non LGBT communities. Their main focus is to make a change. Just like college sororities that are there just for the name, there are also lesbian sororities that do just the same. Be very careful in choosing a sorority. Make sure you properly search and understand what you’re getting yourself into. There are many different categories of lesbian sororities that’ll fit all the different categories of lesbians; feminine lesbians, butch lesbians and even older, wiser lesbians.
