I am not a “watch” person. I am one of those annoying people that constantly ask others what the time is. My husband, on the other hand, is the complete opposite. He has watches for all sots o occasions. He has his work watch. He has his dressy watch. He has his dressy casual watch. He has his everyday watch. The man should open a watch shop. And, boy, does he get irritated when I ask him what time it is!
When my sister gave us matching Paolo Gucci Wrist Watches for Christmas, she couldn’t have given a better gift. Craig obviously loves his watches, and I was in dire need of one.
Julie got me the Paolo Gucci PG79TB Wrist Watch with a champagne face. (Unlike the navy blue one you see pictured here.) The watch is 6.5″ long, from end to end. The band and casing is silver, but has two tone gold down the middle. The time hands are gold, as is the dial. The watch face, as mentioned, is champagne and has a black Paolo Gucci emblem.
One terrific feature of this watch is that it is water-resistant. Of course, you shouldn’t confuse this with waterproof. If you splash some water on it, you don’t have to worry. However, I wouldn’t recommend taking a shower or going swimming while wearing it.
Even though I’m a big girl, I have very small wrists. (For someone my size, anyway.) I had to shorten the band, which was relatively simple. All that needed to be done was to poke out one of the screws with a pin, and reattach the clasp. No problem– even for a technological idiot like me.
The watch is heavy, but not so heavy that it is uncomfortable. You know that you are wearing a watch. It isn’t big or bulky, so it doesn’t snag on my clothes. I tend to wear a lot of long sleeves, so this is a big concern for me. It also doesn’t get in the way of typing or writing, which I also do a lot of.
Even though this is a really nice-looking watch, I tend to wear it with casual clothes. This watch is so versatile that it can be worn with casual clothes or when going to a formal event. It really is a classy, classic watch.
There aren’t any numbers on the face, so the person that wears it really should be able to tell time without having to use the numbers. (You’d be surprised at how many people need the numbers to tell time.) Obviously, this isn’t something that you would get for a child, or even for a young teenager.
This would make a terrific gift, especially since it doesn’t break the bank. And, because the name of the designer is Paolo Gucci, people immediately associate it with Gucci. It’s not a Gucci watch. It’s a Paolo Gucci watch.
I am very happy with this watch. I admit that I sometimes forget to wear it– but that has nothing to do with the watch. I’m just not a “watch person.” So, for me to like and recommend this watch is a big deal.
