Pampers Swaddlers diapers are the first diapers that are made exclusively for young babies. I was skeptical at first that they were any better than Pampers Baby Dry or other brands of diapers in sizes newborn-two. However, my curiosity and addiction to trying any new baby product on the market led me to buy a package ‘just to see. And I’m glad I did!
Pampers Swaddlers diapers come in sizes newborn-two and fit babies weighing seven to eighteen pounds. The newborn diapers have a cut out in the top edge for the umbilical stump to keep wetness away from the area until the stump falls off. Pampers Swaddlers diapers have the signature Pampers scent. They smell sweet and baby soft and help to mask the odor of urine when the diaper is full. The main feature of the Pampers Swaddlers diapers is their Grow-With-Me fit™. The Grow-With-Me fit™ is created by stretchy tabs that overlap and keep baby snug in the diaper. As baby gains pound after pound the tabs will stretch to continue to give baby a comfortable and snug fit in the diaper. Pampers Swaddlers diapers have a soft, blanket like feel on the outer cover. The cover has a weave like pattern that is akin to a soft, cloth diaper. Pampers Swaddlers diapers are just as soft on the inside so that they do not irritate baby’s new, delicate skin.
As a new mom is getting to know her child she has to learn his or her patterns and things about her baby such as how quickly he or she will fill a diaper. Because Pampers Swaddlers diapers are ultra absorbent, leaks are prevented. The snug fit of the diapers also work to stop leaks before they occur. There is peace of mind knowing that if you put baby down for a nap and he or she sleeps a little longer than normal, his or her diaper is going to make it through.
I found that some packages of Pampers Swaddlers diapers contain diapers with a mesh like layer on the inside that helps to pull moisture away from baby, also preventing leaks. As with their other Pampers brand diapers, Pampers Swaddlers diapers contains an aloe additive to keep baby’s bottom conditioned and free of rashes.
Pamper Swaddlers diapers have the same cute Sesame Street characters as the other Pampers diapers. The difference with Pampers Swaddlers diapers is that the characters are the sweet baby versions of Elmo, Cookie Monster, Big Bird, Ernie and Bert. Seeing which character was next in the package was always fun for my older child when he “helped” with diaper changes.
Unfortunately for me, Pampers Swaddlers diapers are among the most expensive diapers on the market. I signed up for free development information on the Pampers website and received coupons for $1.50-$2.00 off packages of Pampers Swaddlers diapers. This enabled me to fit the pricey diapers into my budget. Without coupons, however, I couldn’t justify spending more on the diapers after my sons graduated to a size two and the number of diapers per package decreased. The best prices I found on Pampers Swaddlers diapers were at Walmart and Target, especially when they were on sale (which was not often enough for me!).
I wholeheartedly recommend Pampers Swaddlers diapers because of their great scent, leak protection and soft, snug fit. I encourage parents interested in purchasing this diaper to sign up for coupons on the Pampers website and stock up during sales.
