Original Mother’s Day Poems of Love and Inspiration

Mother's Day Poems

The following selection of mother’s day poems are penned from a mother’s heart, and inspired by my own mother’s love and affection. Perhaps you’ll find a reflection of your mother or yourself in this short collection of Mother’s Day Poems.

Mother’s Day Poems Selection 1: A Mother’s Heart

Strong Heart of

Unconditional love flows from her heart,

When tears flow from her eyes.

Endless prayers on sleepless nights,

From mother’s heart arise.

Courage and strength show in her life

When she stands by my side.

There is no measure for mother’s love,

In whose shadow I often hide.

The fears of motherhood never revealed,

Only unconditional love and care.

Even when others turn away,

Mother is always there.

From where does she garner forgiveness and mercy,

Limitless grace, and passion?

It’s planted in a Mother’s heart,

As infinite as the ocean.

Mother’s Love

More passionate than you’ve ever shown, I’ve learned to know it’s there.

Overwhelming when I need it most, I appreciate your care.

Tough at times, I realize that’s how it’s meant to be.

Heroic in the face of fear, you’ve always stood by me.

Eternal, like the heart of God, a Mother’s love remains.

Reaching over miles and time, regardless of my age,

my mother’s love will never change.

I love you Mommy

I love to climb up in your lap

And listen to your heart beat.

I love it when you tuck me in

And cover up my feet.

I love it when you play with me,

Imaginary castles and fairies in trees.

I love to be your little girl

And this I know is true.

When I grow up Mommy,

I want to be like you.

Mother’s Day Poems Selection 2: In Honor of Mothers

You Taught Me

Some people say they learned everything they need to know in kindergarten.

Some say that college taught them everything they should know.

My head would be empty, yet filled with knowledge had you not taught me the things I know.

Information and facts scramble ’round in my head.

Philosophical thoughts bring new understanding,

But it would all be in vain without your wisdom and guiding.

You say you are proud of the things that I do.

You need to know, Mother, I learned them all from you.

I Honor You

In the secret corners of my life, I’m reminded of the truths you taught me.

On the battlefield, I remember the shield of faith which you passed to me.

In the race, I gain my second win as I hear the words echoed, “Never give up.”

Life is not easy, but I’m reminded of the times I saw you pushing through.

When difficulties arise, I cannot give in, when I look to you.

As challenges come, and they always do, I hear the words echoed, “I know you can do it.”

On Mother’s Day and every day, I think how you’ve touched my life.

You’ve taught me courage, faith, and strength despite strife.

On this day, to cherish all that you mean, may these words echo forever “I honor you.”
