Ojon is a hair-care company that’s been around for a few years. It’s become hugely popular with QVC customers mostly because the line centers around not only making hair look fabulous, but in making hair healthy. The Ojon line gets its name from the palm nut that comes from the Ojon tree, found in a small region Central America, which has been used for centuries my the Miskito Indians to give themselves healthy and luxurious hair. The Ojon Company uses the oil from these nuts in all of their products to give women around the world the same opportunity.
I was looking for a volumizer not because I have thin or flat hair, but because I was looking to add extra volume to my hair for a certain style. Even though I was told by a salesman that Ojon’s Conditioning Volumizing Foam was great, I was still skeptical about buying a volumizers in general because I’d tried other ones in the past that left my hair feeling hard and dried out, let alone the fact that this one cost $22 for a 5 oz bottle. Yet the label claimed that it would offer weightless volume, brilliant shine, deep conditioning, combat humidity, fight frizz and a light to medium hold, so I was basically sold on it.
Even though the Ojon Company made a lot of claims, all my skepticism went out of the window after using the foam. My hair is chemically processed so it’s often dry, even after conditioning it, but this foam always leaves my hair feeling softer and moisturized as soon as I apply it. When I blow dry my hair it definitely feels sleeker and not at all frizzy and even though my natural hair color is quite dull, I do notice that it’s a bit shinier with Ojon’s Conditioning Volumizing Foam. The last thing I love about the product is the fact that it does give my hair doesn’t feel sticky or hard after using it as it does with so many hair products, it just feels like really clean hair, the tropical scent is great too.
The foam does give off a hold that’s heavy enough to keep my hair from falling while I’m inside, but it’s definitely not enough for a windy day. As far as volume goes, I do notice a 20-30% increase to the volume of my hair so it’s not a spectacular difference, yet that’s in part because my hair is already thick and full so I don’t take the extra step of blow-drying my hair with a round brush. Instead, I usually do my best to flatten it out with a paddle brush, but on the occasions when I’ve made the effort to have more volume I’ve blow-dried my hair with my head upside down, and I definitely notice 50% more volume to my hair with the Volumizing Foam.
I give Ojon’s Conditioning Volumizing Foam 4.5 out of 5 stars. It’s great for people with coarse thick hair who wants their hair to be more manageable and moisturized; I also think it would offer people with finer hair textures with fuller manes.
It’s worth the 22 bucks and it has replaced so many of the straightening serums I’ve used.
