It is a lot easier to get a professional looking manicure at home than you may think. I am always getting compliments on my nails. I usually have a French manicure. I don’t go get them done, I do them myself at home. People are so impressed and I guess I never understood why. It is so easy to do yourself.
I like the Nailene artificial nails. They are actually better than the Revlon that I have tried. I expected Revlon to be better than the lower priced artificial names made by Nailene. I have found less expensive artificial nails at Dollar General and Family Dollar but I like Nailene. They are strong and professional looking. I like the set of 36, because I can replace them if they come loose.
First after buying your nails, you can find them in different lengths, sizes and colors. I prefer the French manicure. They are already done and you don’t have to paint the tips white. You need an emery board and the glue that comes with the nails. You can also use super glue or super gel glue. You may want to clip you nails down and gently buff the top with the emery board. It is important to get nails that are either flexible for all shapes of nail beds or ones that are flat if you nail beds are flat. If your nail beds are more curved you can get ones shaped to fit them. I have flat nail beds so I get the flexible or flat.
Applying the Nails:
After you have followed these steps, put a artificial nail on your fingernails to see which ones fit your nails. It is really very simple. Put a drop of super glue on and hold the nail and place with a firm pressure. You only have to hold it on for about 20 seconds. It will dry fast. After you have all your nails on you can lightly buff the ends with the emery board or the little one that is provided with the artificial nail kit. I do everything with my artificial nails on. I wash dishes, paint, clean, weed and whatever else I need to do. If you are not used to having long nails you may want to go with the shorter ones to get used to them. If you like a longer look you can wear them longer gradually.
You can also use regular nailpolish on them and the polish will stay on longer than on your real fingernails. I don’t know why, but I know it is true because I have done it. If you don’t want to polish them you can also buy ones that are already colored and they stay that way without the color chipping off.
The other thing I like about them is that I am a nail biter. When I wear artificial fingernails, I don’t like the texture and it keeps me from biting my nails. They last for a long time, especially if you don’t do as much as I do with painting, crafting and cleaning. If a nail comes off you can just put another one on with the super glue. I have been wearing artificial nails for over 10 years and have not damaged my nails at all.
