Every year I like to visit different towns in New Jersey and take a look at the Day camp programs that they currently have. I visited a lot of places in Piscataway that will be having day camps in 2007. Here is my list of the top picks, based on the staff friendliness, experience, affordability and activities.
The first camp that I found really looks like it would be a lot of fun for the child who loves football, and wants to become a better player. Rutgers Football Camp is a great summer camp program that is located at Rutgers University the Busch Campus. The address is 1 scarlet night way, Piscataway NJ. Their telephone number is 732-445-6200. One thing that I really like about this camp is that it gives you the option to stay overnight. Of course there is an additional fee but if you live a rather far distances from the camp location it may not be a bad idea.
All those who stay overnight are supervised by the camp counselors, and they even let you put in a roommate request, although they do not guarantee that you will get the roommate you requested. There are several different camps to choose from. They offer the Rutgers overnight camp which is for those kids in the 10th through 12th grades. Then there is the Rutgers overnight camp for those entering grades 7 through 9. For the younger group of children there is the Rutgers Junior camp for those entering grades 1 through six. In order to enroll in the Rutgers football camp you will need to complete the registration form, along with proof of a recent physical by your child’s doctor, and the payment in full. All of these items must be received by June 1, 2007. They do accept walk in registration after the first day of camp but your child is not guaranteed to get a spot. Another great camp in Piscataway, New Jersey is the Rutgers Young Scholars Program in Discrete Mathematics.
There is a large amount of children who like to continue learning over the summer months. If your child is one of those children then maybe you should consider enrolling him or her in this program. This program will challenge your child’s mind as well as help them see how enjoyable math can be. This program is for high school students, and those who excel in the area of mathematics. It is a four week academic program. They only choose about thirty students to participate in this program and it begins on July 9th and ends on August 3rd. They also offer educational field trips, and even a robotics challenge which really sounds interesting and a lot of fun. All students do stay overnight at this particular camp. If you have a younger child in the Piscataway area then you can consider enrolling them into the lady of Fatima’s friend’s forever summer camp. It is located at 499 new Market Road. Their telephone number is 732-968-8040. They offer programs for children ages four to twelve years of age. They have various games and activities, as well as special guests, and water activities. Their fees can go up to about $200 a week. If you would like more information on the programs that they offer then you can contact them at the number indicated above.
Although I visited a lot of place in Piscataway only the programs listed above had the friendliest staff, the best activities, and the best prices for the programs offered.
